Never used them but I did use the liners. Very rough and we didn't like them. I hear they are pretty low rise which surprises some. I would look for reviews online at diaper swappers or maybe the cloth diaper board here.

What are they? I'm kind of out of the loop. Haven't done diapers in 5+ years. What kind of brands are there now?

G diapers are a reusable outer shell with either cloth innerspring, but also has a disposable insert as well. Kind of a cross between disposables and cloth

Their selling point is that they are "green". Compared to disposables, they decompose more quickly. Compared to cloth, (the disposable liner) uses less water (another valuable resource). The disposable insert may be disposed in regular garbage or flushed as it breaks down and decomposes. There are also cloth liners for those interested. The company itself was founded in Australia which is apparently frequently in drought conditions (thus the disposable insert won't waste water). And they are based out of Portland ("green" capital USA in my opinion). The company is family friendly- I like supporting business that promote family values.

The disposable inserts are chlorine/chemical free.

I'm pretty convinced that ill try them. But I will read more on others experiences (thx for tip geogeek).
