We simply can't decide on a name.

DS wants Ningajo. Last week it was Ninja. The week before it was George Washington.

DH doesn't even want to listen to names. I rattled off a few the other day and after I got done, he broke away from his hunting show long enough to say "What?"

I had it narrowed down to two or three and now I'm stuck and don't know what I want.

How are you all doing on names?

Well DH has had a middle name picked out since I was pregnant with DD (I vetoed it that time, but am giving in this time. It's part of my middle name, or might use the whole middle name). So he wants me to pick out a first name. I'm having trouble coming up with one I like that goes with the middle name that doesn't sound like an 80's rock star, or a porn star name - LOL. DD came up with a name the day she found out about her baby sister - Rose. But to me that would be a great middle name, which we already have. She also suggested Matilda (she's watched the movie like twice this year), but quickly went back to Rose or Rosie.
So yeah I think I have a short list of possible names going. Every time I look at the baby name sights most of the names strike me as 'to common', 'good for a middle name', or 'really hate it'.

We had a heck of a time naming Kody. Neither DH or I liked each other's suggestions. I wanted Daniel, he wanted Jonathan, or David, which is a name that has been used repeatedly in his family and I wanted something original for our little guy. Took us till I was 7 1/2, almost 8 months along to figure out a name. And the only reason we did then, was because we did a Facebook poll to get people to give us ideas! LOL! Cheesy, but it worked, and now we have Kody Braden to show for it.

Good luck with the naming! Some moms name their babies after they are born, because they have a better idea what "fits" after they've met their LO.

DH and I are the really weird people who have baby named before we have baby. DD was named for almost a year (well between 2 names) and was official the day we had the ultrasound. With this one, we had his name picked out before I was pregnant and it has stayed the same the whole time. We still think it fits perfectly for our family and we are in love with it. We decided on his name in April (a year before he will be born).

We totally suck at names. Our little guy will be here in less than 12 weeks and we have no name for him.

Jackson wants to name him Jordan John Deere..lol. We have our list narrowed down to about 20 names so hopefully in the next 12 weeks we can narrow it down to a first and a middle name.

Names are so hard.

LOL! I guess we aren't alone! I had a name picked out for a girl. But boys are harder I think. Of course my in laws want the baby named after their side. Well, to friggin' bad. We already have DS named after DH's side. I'm NOT doing another one.

I hate those baby name websites. They make me crazy. Everything sounds like a classroom roster.

We'll keep working at it!

Good Luck.

We had a girl name picked out also so it would have been so easy if this was a girl but I just find boy names so hard anyway.

let us know when you do get a name and I'll let you know ours if we ever get one. I have told DH that we better have a name picked out before I go into labor or I'm going to be pissed..lol.

Boy names are so dang hard! My DH is so picky and turns every suggestion down. He finally told me that he thinks he likes "Harper" for a middle name. I will be honest, It's not my first choice but it's starting to grow on me. I'm going to let DH pick the middle name so whatever he decides is what it will be.

Amy I like Toren Harper. I think that is a nice strong name for your little boy.

I have no idea. Well, actually I have my 2-3 favorites, but between me and DH we have a spreadsheet of about 25 names. Our baby girl will have DH's last name (I never changed mine) which ends in an "ie" sound, and we REALLY do not want a first name that also ends in the same sound.

Oh I get that Mel. I wouldn't want that either. I want a name that has a nice "ring" to it.

Ame, I like Harper for a middle name too.

I am the total opposite of you all who think girl names are easier...I have 2 girls and naming them was hard, we had a boy name picked our before I was even pregnant, of course that has changed, but had DD1 been a boy, she would have had that name and DD2 we had a boy named picked out too! If I have another and it's a girl, she won't be named until she can name herself...lmao!

My parents had 4 boys in a row and the last boy has "Baby" on his birth certificate. No Joke. He was almost a year old before they named him. He is over 45 now and the strangest guy. Makes me wonder.....

I'm beginning to think this might be me. If I'm being honest I'm a little afraid to stick to a name yet. We had a name picked out for Shoshana and we lost her. I know it's silly, but I honestly feel like waiting until I'm further along to get serious about names. Though about once a week DH asks me if I've come up with any I like yet. I've come up with a lot I like for a middle name, but just don't feel right for a first name.
But it will come, even if it's at the hospital

My hubby won't sit down and talk with me about names. He kept saying ridiculous stuff that he wasn't serious about, and has made no actual suggestions so far. I have a few names I like that I've picked. I've let him know what those are. He finally told me that he just can't seem to think of anything that he likes, and is still looking. So I feel better now that I know why he's hesitating so much, but it'll be a bit before we figure a name out.

HATE NAMING! It's so hard! It seriously drives me crazy.

Girl names are easier than boy names... But I still can't 100% commit to a girl name.

*sigh* Most of us are in the same boat.

Cary that's so funny. I guess if I had all girls then I might feel the same way you do. It's funny how we always feel the gender we are having is the harder gender to name. I've always felt boys were harder to name than girls but I've never had any girls so maybe if I would have had girls I would have felt the exact opposite.

Ha! So get this, I'm sitting on the couch last night after a marathon christmas tree decorating session and I have my hand on my tummy. DH says to me "Is Joshua Kicking?"

I look around at him and say "Uh, WHO? Who the heck is Joshua?"

DH says "I thought you liked that name?"
I say "Are you talking about the baby? Are you setting on a name?"
DH says "If you like it, sure."

I was FLOORED!!!!

I do like Joshua. That was one of our final names when we were naming Jacob.

Joshua is a great name
