So I looked at my 10 week ultrasound picture and the heart rate was 188. So of course, I HAD to google it cause that is super high and I run across something that says high heart rate can indicate chromosomal abnormalities. -.- I also found a chart that said 130-200 is normal for a 10 week fetus. So... Now I'm scared. Why did I Google it? Why?????

My doctor didn't say anything and I think he would??? I don't know. I'll ask him when I see him at work again or at my next appointment.

Google likes to give the worst scenarios. It was still in the normal range. I know a lot of people who's babies had higher heart rates and the bub is perfect. You can ask your doctor at your next appointment if it is still really bugging you. I am sorry that you are scared.

188 is normal for a 10wk baby. After 13-14wks, the heart rate will slow to 120-160bpm. I googled the same thing with my last pregnancy when the baby's hb was 170 at 8w3d. It said for that gestation it should not be over 160. I hit the 180's by 9wks too. By 14wks, baby's hb was in the 150's.......never went over 160 until it was getting really active in the 2nd. trimester. No more google!

Both my boys always had really high heartrates, like off the charts high and they were both born totally fine with no abnormalities at all. The little boy that I'm pregnant with has just always had a normal heart rate. I think on Dr. Google you can always find something to worry about. I don't think the heart rate is any indication of abnormalities at all.

Just stay away from google.

Don't let it get you upset. I remember reading how the heart rate changes in the early weeks and it sounds normal to me. Google is a butt-head most of the time.

I echo all the PPs! For one thing, turn off Dr. Google That's totally in the normal range. And for all you know, baby just happened to be very active at that moment, or excited that you'd just had breakfast, or something else totally and completely normal.

So agree with the other ladies. Mel hit it on the head - what and when you eat/drink will affect babies HB and other times it will be slower or faster. If you're doctor wasn't concerned I'm sure all is good. Sounds to me that you're in the normal range, which is pretty big anyway.

Don't worry! I've done that too. I think around 9ish weeks baby's heart rate was way over 180 too and I did the same thing as you and had to ask dr. google! I think around 9-10 weeks is when the heart rate will peak then it will start to slow down

Yes, I agree with the other ladies. It's a normal heart rate for that gestation, and stay away from google. It's not your friend during pregnancy.
