I went in for my 36 week check up on Friday.
Much more eventful than I'd planned for. It was just a normal checkup with no scan. But my blood pressure is indeed sneaking higher and higher like she was worried about. It's out of the range of normal right now, and seems to sneak up more every week.
She had previously said that she was going to medicate me to bring it down if it got to where it is. But she says now that I'm so late in the pregnancy, she is changing the plan.
For starters, she's not letting me go past 39 weeks. If it keeps climbing and gets to a scary level, we will go earlier to be induced. She set me up with a scan for Tuesday to make sure baby is ok with the higher bp. I guess it has bad effects on how well my placenta functions. So we will also go earlier if baby stops growing, my fluid levels decrease too much, or my placenta is showing signs of decreased efficiency or damage.
We'll go in for weekly checks with scans from now till the end.
I'm a bit worried, but I can't help but be a bit excited too. A week chopped off my time, means only a couple weeks until I meet my new little boy. I was so sure this baby would be hanging out till the end. I haven't packed a bag, and right now, we only have a crib, a rock and play, and some clothes. And we went and bought a travel system this weekend. It was very strange to see it all put together in my front room this morning...

I never knew until that moment how badly it could hurt to lose something you never really had. - Missed Miscarriage at 10 weeks - 3/26
I posted in our DDC on this but just wanted to say how excited I am that we are getting so close. I am going to induce at 39 weeks if he's not here sooner so our boys will be joining us right around the same time!! I can't wait.
Did you guys ever nail down a name for your little guy? We finally choose Christian Alexander.
You are in the home stretch now! Don't worry about your BP, your doc will monitor you and if it goes too high, you will be induced. At this point, it's safe. Remember to take frequent breaks, drink ALOT of water and get fresh air.
It's going to be GREAT!

You are almost there, Susan! Oh my goodness how exciting!! So sorry you are having issues with your BP and hopefully it will stop sneaking up on you! KUP on how the scan goes on Tuesday and hopefully the BP isn't causing problems with the placenta.
