I have 2 months left (from tomorrow). I can remember getting 4 "you look like you are about to pop" comments (one from a week ago, 3 from today) and 3 "are you sure it isn't twins" (2 from a week ago, one from today). I let these slide. Yes, I am huge. Pregnant bodies are different from each other. I am finding one other more bothersome than I would have thought. "Are you feeling pretty done with pregnancy by now?" Come on people! I am trying to keep things in perspective. I am huge. I hurt. I love my baby. He kicks me really, really hard. I HAVE 2 MONTHS LEFT! I don't have the energy to be done with pregnancy with 2 full months left. I know I sure as heck don't have to enjoy every second of it, but I want to still have a positive mindset about the weeks that I have left.
I don't know anyone who likes those stupid comments, so why do pregnant women get 'em so often? I had a few of those at the end of my pregnancy and it upset me for a few days. I don't drop things easily I suppose. I'm not sure if it helps at all but I definitely don't think you look huge or anything like that. Enjoy your last months/weeks. It will go fast.
Oh I'd hate to get the 'are you done being pregnant' comment. Um, if I was done do you think I'd be sporting this basketball under here? So far I've only gotten one 'you look ready to pop' comment (and it was from a close neighbor, so it didn't upset me). But this week every time I'm out and about I'm getting people asking when I'm due. Which isn't so bad as long as their only follow up question is 'do you know if you're having a boy or girl'. In the past I was lucky not to get any twin or triplet comments (or if I did I erased them from my memory).
Yeah, the "you are still pregnant?" comments came A LOT with Marsi. NO....I decided to carry her under my shirt. I got all the comments a lot with her. They started before 30 weeks with Dorian. It is something I have to just brush off or I will spend my 3rd trimester pissed off at everyone.
I hate those comments also. Don't people know better. Seems like people feel comfortable telling pregnant women how big they are when you would never tell a fat person how big they are. And you are not that big. I've seen your pictures and you look great. I feel enormous also. Just try to ignore them and enjoy being pregnant with your sweet boy.
Thank you *Kiliki* for my beautiful siggy
Yea, people are kind of strange. It's like they see baby bumps and babies and lose the ability to filter what they say.
At my shower several people said "You're really starting to blossom" while motioning with their hands to indicate that my belly is getting big. LOL.... I guess that's a sort of nicer way to say I'm getting big?? I don't know.
I agree with Melissa, I don't understand why people think its ok to make constant comments about our bodies! You would never walk up to a fat person and say "wow, I see you haven't started losing that weight yet!" So why to a pregnant lady?
I'm not very social, so I'm lucky I don't get those comments a lot. It would definitely drive me batty.
