It's been an interesting week for me. Overall it's been good.

At my appt I was 3 cm dilated, and 50-60% effaced now, so it's progress!!

I've been cramping a ton the last few days, but no defined, time-able, or regular painful contractions yet. My cramping is pretty constant, and doesn't get worse with the contractions that i notice. I'm at the point where all I want is for baby boy to decide he's coming and do it already!!! I'm very uncomfortable now. I have all these signs and think I might could go soon, but then nothing really happens. I'm feeling very done with being pregnant...

Also, I woke up to a wonderful skunk smell in my house. I'm pretty sure I've got skunks in the crawl space. It smells worse inside my house. You can't smell much from the outside. NASTY smell!!!

If anyone has any advice on evicting our newest house guests and removing the smell from the house I'd appreciate hearing it!! Most of what I've found says to wait for a time when you know they are out and close up holes where they can get in at. I have not seen them as yet, so that's probably going to be hard....

Oh, no! Skunks are awful. We had a problem with them in our barn for the longest while. DH's dog is a mighty hunter, though, so eventually DH just locked the dog in the barn over night and he got them.

But the house! I realize I'm n the minority here, but I have family who are trappers, so I would just call them. I don't suppose this is an option for you?

3 CM dilated! That's amazing! I hope he comes at the perfect time and you are no longer in discomfort!

Not something you want to hear, but I had that crampy prodromal labor for 3 weeks before I had Marsi. It was the absolute most miserable time I have had being pregnant. It seems as if I will have it again with Dorian because it seems to start up earlier in the day no matter what I do. It freaking sucks!

I am so sorry skunks got under your house. That is terrible. Do you know where they could get in? They are nocturnal so best to patch it up at night. I would also get some food they like to bait them out so you might be able to see them before patching it as well.

Yea, there's a couple spots where they could get in at. I think one of them is more likely where they are, but I'll be patching both up.
I think we're going to have to pay someone to come out and trap them. I don't know anyone who traps and my DH said he doesn't want to try it with skunks. Can't say I blame him. I'm going to call around and find out how much that might cost us today.

Ugh, what a pain in the butt. There are small animal traps you can buy for skunks, racoons, things like that. I have no idea how much those cost though.

Come on out baby, it's almost time

Yea we've trapped skunks by accident (forgot and left the squirrel trap out overnight and they trapped themselves. So it's easy enough to trap them, the hard part is getting them not to spray you. What DH did was to get a big board and put it in front of him so the skunk couldn't see him and then opened the release on the trap. So if we were trying to block them from somewhere we could put up the block while they were trapped. But yea, you might want to call someone.
As for the progress - congrats! You're getting so close.

I am a city girl and have no advice about the skunks- just hope they are gone quickly.

You're SO CLOSE to seeing baby! I'm excited for you

Congrats on your cervical progress! I hope that means he will come soon. I had a lot of crampy feelings like you're describing (prodromal labor), and it went on for several weeks for me, too. I felt like Kody was never going to come! At 5 days overdue, I went to my OB to have my membranes stripped, only to discover I was 5cm dilated! I was shocked because I felt like the prodromal labor wasn't accomplishing anything, but in the end it had. So hang in there!
