It happened! After 5 months of trying, the first BFP this TTC #2 attempt.
It was weird because I got a very faint +hpt at around 10 dpo.. went to the store got another (digital) test. Tested at about 1:00 am the next day after holding my pee for 4 hours and got a 'Not Pregnant'. I felt horrible the next day, really just one of the worst days I've had in awhile.

Than my period still didn't come.. and on a whim my DH told me to use the other test the next day (still no period) to my shock it said 'Pregnant'. Again I went and got another test, a cheapy one and I got another positive.

So I couldn't get in to get a lab-test since the clinic was moving to a new building and they were closed Friday AND Saturday.. had the worst time just trying to get ahold of a nurse today and get my lab-work done. I finally got a call in and they said my beta was 81. I think I am 4w2 days.. maybe 4w1 days? I am not sure if this is good or not, according to some charts it should be higher.

I've been taking Fertilaid -- you arent meant to take it while pregnant but it seems to have helped extending my cycle aswell as helping my progestrone as it has vitex (chasteberry) in it. My OB won't order my progesterone suppositories until I get my second beta on Wednesday.

Not really sure if I should celebrate or not.. still blind-sided by this all. Anyone had any experience with beta levels?

I personally haven't had experience with beta levels, as I've never been tested. But from what I've read what really matters is if they double at the second draw. Fingers crossed for you.

Congratulations! Now the nerves set in.

First of all, the numbers mean squat. Don't compare your numbers to other ladies for the same day, because it'll drive you nuts. Get your betas, make sure they are going up - because that is what your doc is looking for - rising numbers.

Once you have had a second draw and your doc is satisfied that the numbers are rising, try and stay away from analyzing numbers. No number is going to make you happy. Either it's too low or too high, doubling too fast or not fast enough and you'll make yourself sick over it.

Enjoy each day as best you can and again, congratulations!

Big hugs! Congratulations on your bfp! It is a stressful time though waiting for test #s.

I totally agree with the others- the actual # itself matters a lot less than the rate of doubling. There's a big range of what is normal. So, just try to breathe, take things one moment at a time, and care for yourself as best you can.

Keep us posted on your next #...

Congrats!!!

Hopefully you get the numbers quickly on Wednesday. Don't worry too much about where the number is at now. Like the other ladies said, the only thing that matters is that you see a good rise in numbers with the next beta. Good luck!!

All that matters is if your beta is doubling. My first beta draw was 26 and now I'm 22 weeks almost 23!

Congrats!

Congratulations on your BFP. I agree with the others, your numbers are not that important but what matters is that they are increasing. I hope your second set of numbers is wonderful. Please let us know how it goes.

KUP. I've read of others who's numbers didn't double, but increased, and they went on to have healthy babies. So fingers crossed.

Let us know how things go! That's really close to doubling, and there can be a little bit of error in the numbers so everything could be just fine.

Went in for bloodwork this morning, it had been 68 hours and not a full 72 (they close at 12pm and I had my blood drawn around 1:15 pm the other day) but they said the results won't be in this Monday - possibly Tuesday!! Arrgh it's so frustrating.

DD has an appointment on Monday and I am worried about that as it is.. much less this too.

UPDATE! Finally got a call from the nurse - for some reason they never called me on Tuesday (they were closed Monday due to bad weather) and my levels doubled! They were just a bit slower at first. So I got my progestrone suppositories today and I have an appointment on April 2nd. Kind of weird since I won't be seeing the Dr until I am like 9 1/2 weeks. Last time with Chelsea I saw him at 5w6d - 8 weeks- 12 weeks and so on. It kind of sucks waiting so long to see/hear a heartbeat and reassured everything will be okay.

Congrats. I agree it's frustrating to not get seen early on (I understand why they do it, but still).
