Sorry I have been away so much lately ladies. I feel like I have been a terrible host. We have just been so tired and so busy at our house that it has been hard to find time to get on the computer. I'm hoping as Christian begins to sleep a bit better I will be able to find more time.

Christian has been doing great. He is up to 8 lbs 9 oz from his birth weight of 6 lbs 10 oz so he is definitely gaining weight. I hate how fast they grow. he has had a problem with spitting up and last night it became projectile vomiting which he did 3 times. So today I took him to the dr. She did say that there was a stomach virus going around so he could possibly have that. She also thought that he could possibly have some sort of blockage that is preventing the food from getting to his stomach. She said this usually becomes evident around 1 month of age. So now we are watching him for more projectile vomiting which thankfully he has had none. his dr said that if the vomiting continues then they will send us for an ultrasound to check and see if he does have the blockage and if he does then surgery would be required. So of course I am freaking out a bit and praying that he just has a stomach bug. So that is where we are at right now. I'll try to update you tomorrow or Sunday with how he is doing.

I'm just praying that he doesn't vomit anymore. the idea of surgery just scares the crap out of me.

i hope all our pregnant ladies are doing ok. I hate that I haven't been around to support you guys. i promise that sometime soon I'll be back on as much as I was before Christian was born.

Update:

So both Jackson and I have had the stomach bug this weekend. I never thought I would be happy to have the stomach bug but I think that means that Christian did have the stomach bug and doesn't have any kind of blockage that would require surgery. He has not had any more vomiting so I think we are out of the woods. I'm so relieved. I was making myself sick with worry over the possibility of surgery.

Here is a recent picture I took of Christian last night. His hair always does the mohawk thing when I don't brush it after his bath. I think it is so cute.

Don't worry about us, we are surviving without you Trust me I know how it is the first few weeks, hahah. I figure each one of us that has a newborn will end up disappearing for a little while until they get in the swing of things. That's how it was for me -- although I'm kind of ashamed that I wasn't able to manage a NB and post here in PAL. I'm a SAHM.... with ONE baby! Sheesh! You enjoy your time and don't worry about JM. We do miss you though! xxx

Surgery freaks me out too. I hope it doesn't come to that and it's just a bug. I don't get it though. Why would they think something is blocking the food from going down if he is gaining weight good? Seems like that would go hand in hand with one another.

I'm happy you were able to come say hi and update us. We need more pics *major hint, hint*

Hi Melissa! No worries at all, we are doing just fine. You concentrate on YOUR family, that is totally reasonable. Poor little Christian! And poor you- how stressful to have him sick and have this additional worry about surgery. I hope it's just a bug that clears up in no time.

We all understand. Newborns are just to cute not to spend all your time with, plus they require so much. Take your time. I hope it's just a stomach bug and clears up soon. Get some rest when you can and we'll be here when you have more time.

Take care of you family first! I hope he just has a bug. I hate seeing babies have surgery of any kind as it always triggers me with Marsi's surgeries. Praying for you and him.

I know what blockage / condition the doc is talking about and I hope Christian doesn't have it. It seems that he wouldn't be gaining weight if he did have such a thing though. I hope he bounces back and the vomiting stops.Feel Better Christian!

No problem at all, Melissa. I'm sure we all completely understand how busy you are! Sounds like Christian is doing a great job gaining weight! Hopefully he doesn't have a blockage and hopefully the vomiting stops soon. (((Hugs)))

I'm so sorry Melissa. How stressful for you. Neither is a good choice I hope it's not the medical condition and I also hope it's not a virus! Don't worry about us. KUP when you can. Lots of well wishes your way.

Thanks ladies. amy his dr told me to try to keep him upright for 30 minutes after I feed him and see if that helps with the spitting up. It has seemed to help and he is definitely spitting up less. His dr was more concerned about the projectile vomiting than the spitting up.

No we haven't had anymore projectile vomiting since Friday morning so I think the vomiting was from the virus which seems to be gone.
