to DTD? Just curious if you waited 6 weeks like most dr's recommend to DTD?

We always wait 6 weeks to DTD. I'm still sore after the delivery so I really don't want to DTD right now plus we are both so tired that I'm not sure if I have the energy. Although DH does tell me that he is ready when the 6 weeks is up.

I had a c-sec and had to wait 8 weeks. We followed docs orders, not happily, but we did. I was NOT a good patient and did not take my pain meds and had a difficult recovery so DTD was not high on my list anyway.

With DS we only waited 4 weeks. It was the next day that I ended up in the hospital for hemmorraging. So I'm pretty sure with DD we waited at least 6 weeks. But with her I had a c/s (didn't with DS), so I also know my recovery time was longer. I don't remember how long we waited (though I'm sure DH does - lol) since I didn't end up at the hospital.

Well, I didn't tear at all and my bleeding was completely gone by 6 days PP. We definitely DTD before 6 weeks. (3ish?)

We DTD about 4 weeks in. I felt ok, and wanted to try. DH was hesitant, but went along with it. It was great and I was a teeny sore, but worth it.

I didn't know there was the option we waited 6w. I didn't tear, but my pelvic bones felt bruised for some time so I wasn't interested. I think DH was scared anyway. It worked out

I waited 6 weeks to DTD so I was sure we were on birth control. Even so, it was about 7 weeks PP that we did it and it was incredibly sore. We did try again some days later and it got better. It took a long while for my c-section scar to heal so I dont know if that had anything to do with it or not.

I just do the pull n pray until I get on some sort of BC. Usually it has been FAM, this time I am getting an IUD at 8 weeks. I was sad she wouldn't place it at my 6 week PP check, but it is what it is.

Why wouldn't she, Rachel? That's what the OBs usually did at the clinic I worked at--6 week PP check and IUD placement.

I really don't know. Maybe they wanted to "inspect the goods" before recommending it.

We dtd right around 4 weeks both times except I should have waited longer after my first delivery because it was painful and made me really sore afterwards.

My doc won't place an IUD at that point either. She likes for you to have had 1 AF cycle if possible. Mine was placed at about 8 weeks both times. I waited until at least 6 weeks with both girls. With DD1, I was so sore from tearing and being cut (vaginal delivery, but had an episiotomy) that I was not anywhere near interested. With DD2, I was too tired and sore...lol!
