This is the first time I've ever used the message board, so forgive me if I did this wrong. I'm 33 and have 2 beatiful childrenfrom a previous marrige. I also have an amazing step son. 3 years ago me and my current husband got pregnant, but at our first US we found out it was twins, but neither had a Hb. I had a D&C a few days later. It was devestating as you all know. We tried for 2 years after that and then gave up. 9 days ago we found out we were pregnant again. My OB wanted to monitor my HCG levels so I had a blood test on Monday and Wednesday. Today the nurse called and said my levels were 63, 000 then 70, 000 so they did not double. They scheduled me for a US on monday. I'm so scared and was hoping sombody might be able to give me some hope.

Just wanted to send hugs. I'm sorry you're hearing this bad news about your numbers. I really hope there is some fluke. It is possible to have numbers not be doubling properly and go on to have a viable pregnancy, if you google it you'll find stories that go either way. I think the only thing you can do is just wait for that ultrasound. I know it's going to be an awful wait! We are all hoping with you that you hear good news on Monday.

My hcg levels did not double every 48 hours, so they tested 72 hours later and they doubled. Sometimes it's just slower. Your hcg levels are 63,000 and 70,000? How many weeks pregnant are you? The numbers sound VERY high, if they are high like that it will take longer for them to double. Sometimes low progesterone will cause levels to rise slower, you could ask your doctor about being put on a supplement to help balance your hormones out.

I've never had my numbers tested so I can't offer help there, but wanted to wish you the best.

I never had my numbers tested past a certain week so I never had numbers that high. But my OB did say that once they got a certain level, they took longer to double. I will keep my fingers crossed that is the case for you. You have support either way here with these wonderful ladies.

Try to keep up hope! Once hcg levels are that high, they take much longer to double- 4-5 days. Around 8-10 weeks, they begin to slow, and then between 10-12 weeks they even start to decline. This is normal. You may be farther along than you might have thought. Hang in there mama! Let us know what happens on Monday.

I know that once your levels get to be over 6,000 they take a lot longer to double. Way longer. When levels are over 6,000 it takes over 4 days. And with your levels being as high as they are, I wouldn't be surprised if the doubling time slowed down that much. I think it's a good sign that your levels are still going up and I believe you have every reason to be hopeful! Wishing you all the best at your u/s on Monday! Please KUP!!

I was going to say, with numbers that high, you very well may be further along than you thought. My numbers were in the 60,000s at around 6.5 weeks which was pretty high. I had an u/s after that to determine how things were going rather than another draw because of how high they were. I hope things go well today! Waiting and not knowing is so hard! And welcome to the board!

I think once your numbers get high enough they don't double every 48 hours like they do when they are lower. Good Luck at your ultrasound. Please stick around and let us know how it goes and how you are doing. I'm glad you found us.
