My water broke this morning! I haven't been having any regular contractions, just some heavy cramping, but my water has been sort of dribbling out here and there. Every time I stand up, more comes out. It is all clear and odourless, so that's a super good sign! Baby is moving and wiggling arou d and I had a super green smoothie for breakfast.

I have an ultrasound booked at ten and a midwife appointment booked directly after so I'm going to call the midwife at eight and ask her if I should still go to the ultrasound and how we should proceed. Hopefully I have some contractions by then!

As a funny/ horrifying aside, our bathroom flooded this morning and DH has to go feed and milk the cows before he can look at it. So, we had to turn off the water because it was dripping into the living room. No water and I'm supposed to labor all day at home with my doula?. With no toilet? I packed a mini bag and drove to my parents (where I am now) because I'm peeing every two minutes and (TMI) my body is working and to empty itself.

I'll try to keep everyone posted as the day progresses! I may go take a walk in the sunrise and see if some contractions will start.

************

Isabell Grace has arrived! Labor and delivery was INSANE. Wow. I can't believe that's a journey I've been through. She was a big baby, which no one expected (9lbs, 11oz) and I ended up pushing for two hours. My midwife had to maneuver her shoulders out which caused a lot of tearing. I couldn't believe it when they took her out and put her on me.

They kept me at the hospital an additional day to establish breastfeeding (not going the best right now, but it is only hour 18 of her life!) and to make sure my mobility is ok. The SPD was not affected by the delivery and I believe I am starting to have some relief already, praise The Lord!

I'm going to write a proper birth story tomorrow when I get to my parents house. I'm going to spend two nights there because with the amount of stitching I have, they told me not to do any stairs and the only bathroom in my house is upstairs.

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers, ladies! They definitely got me through!

Still no real update -- no contractions have started yet but my midwife is confident that using a breast pump will kick start things, so I'm to do that as much as I can. The water is almost fixed at my house so I can go back shortly and bounce on the ball and pump away for the evening and see if that starts things! Otherwise, we induce at eight tomorrow morning! Thanks for thinking of us, ladies!
