I can't decide what I want more. Sleep or breastmilk.

If DS2 sleeps all night, my milk will reduce. Unless I get up in the middle of the night and pump, but then I won't get a good night's sleep.

What is key for you? Sleep or breastmilk?

I know for me it is more important to breastfeed. With Jacob I had to get up in the middle of the night and pump so I had enough for him to drink while he was at daycare. he would sleep through the night and I would get up and pump so I could send that milk with him to daycare.

Are you working though? Do you need to pump? If he's with you most of the time you can sleep and just feed him when he wants to be fed.

No, I'm not working. I'm thinking if I don't pump during the night then my milk will reduce, because DS2 isn't eating during the night, kwim? But I don't need to pump for storage.

You shouldn't have to worry about pumping in the night if you are home all day feeding him on demand. Your body will get into its own rhythm of producing milk when you need it, and not when you don't. I wouldn't worry so much...get some sleep!

PS, not to be a spoil sport, but can I say I'm sooo jealous you get to make the choice whether or not to get up once in the night or not! *Sigh* I cannot wait till I can start sleeping through the night!

LOl Joy I hope you get to sleep through the night sometime soon.

Leia if you are home all day and feeding on demand then your body will make what your little one needs like Joy said. I wouldn't worry about getting up to pump. The only reason I do it is so I make sure I have enough milk to send with Christian to daycare. If I was at home all day with him then I wouldn't worry about it.
