UGH! I woke up Friday morning at 4:30 and I KNEW. I had cloudy vision in my left eye and when I went into the bathroom it was bloodshot. I knew what I was dealing with. Well, after all - I life in the land of Poo. Poo diapers, cat little boxes, dogs sleeping on my bed and couch (despite training) 12 baby chickens in my basement that I have to clean up after every day, and a chicken coop full of 20 chickens.

I told DH he had to come home early and watch the kids while I went to urgent care. He met me at Urgent Care instead and the on call doc took one look at me and snickered, wrote a script and told me to close my eyes when cleaning the coop, ha ha ha.

I'm cleaning the house like mad. I'm terrified I'll pass this to the baby. Luckily, it's already been 24 hours since I started the drops (I had some left over from last time and I started them 4:30AM yesterday) so I'm no longer contagious - so now it's a waiting game to see if I've passed this on to anyone else in the family. In the meantime, Clorox Wipes!

When I read the headline of this topic, I thought you were going to say that DS1 had pink eye and that you were trying to contain it...oh, you poor girl! I sure hope that you were able to "save" the rest of the house from catching it....go Clorox go!!!

You know my deep desire for a child. A little one to love and to hold, to care for,
to cherish. Grant that my body may conceive and give birth to a beautiful, healthy baby in Your holy image.
Guide me in all my choices so that this conception, my pregnancy and my baby's birth are in line with Your will. Heavenly Father and Holy Mother, hear this prayer of my heart, mind and spirit.
Amen.

Dang pink eye! Sorry to hear it. Did you know that you can put breastmilk in baby's eye to help if he does start to exhibit signs? It really does help. Maybe do breastmilk now as a precaution, it will have your antibodies in it, so it helps fight off any bacteria.

Joy I didn't know that. DS2 threw up all over himself yesterday and got it in his eyes right after he ate. I was panicked it was going to give him an infection. Perhaps it's not such a bad thing after all. I doubt any of it made it into his stomach.

Yeh right? It looks like the drops the doc gave me aren't working. I'm on day 5 and my eyes are still red, itchy and crudy in the morning. I'm so irritated. I think I'll use the old stuff from last year. The paper with the old drops from last year says caution with nursing mothers and the new drops doesn't say anything, but both are Class C for pregnancy. I guess the old drops will be OK.

Pink eye sucks. My kids are in daycare and both Jackson and Jacob have had it twice. I hope yours clears up soon and hopefully baby boy doesn't get it.

Joy I never knew that about breastmilk. That's interesting.

Leia, if it doesn't gross you out too much, what about trying breastmilk on yourself? Should help, can't hurt!
Every website that I've googled in the past for home remedies for pinkeye says, among other things, use breastmilk!

Joy, DS2 started getting green goo this morning. I'm up to my eyeballs with chores - not to mention DS1 fell on a rake this weekend so I'm tending to him. I squirted Breastmilk right into both of DS2's eyes. He thought it was a game and started laughing. I'll let you know what happens.

Oh no Leia I'm sorry that your little one is getting pink eye. I hope the breastmilk works and he is better soon.

I had to laugh at your post though. I'm sure he got a kick out it.

Yeh, it was funny. After his afternoon nap, his left eye was closed shut with green goop. I'm out of my mind!

Oh Leia I'm so sorry it's spread. I laughed though about him thinking it was a game. I hope everyone heals quickly, pink eye is no fun.

Aw poor kiddo! If you feel comfortable waiting 24 hours, give the breastmilk time to work. I seem to recall people saying it took a day or two to clear up. How is your eye doing?

Pedi said at this age to catch it right away as it could spread to the ears. Started him on drops yesterday and he's really improved. I went to the doc myself and I'm on the same drops but I'm NOT improving! I will have to go back tomorrow for another exam. UGH!

Glad the drops are working on him. Hope you get some relief soon.

I know when my kids get pink eye, DH and I always end up with it but we usually just use the same drops as them and it gets better.
