Yesterday I was talking to someone about my pregnancy when another girl butted in and asked how far along I was , and I said nearly 9 weeks and her response was like "oh-well you still not out of the woods yet" and I'm looking at her thinking why would you say that to someone?
I don't think I'll ever understand why people say the things they say. Someone on the Loss boards said there's a sign in their town that says "If you're going to say what you think, please think first." I wish more people would follow that advice.
After two losses back-to-back, I'm getting more brazen when people say stupid stuff. I'd probably have said what you thought and asked why she would say that to someone.
Do not sorrow; the joy of the Lord is your strength." Neh. 8:10
The same thing has happened to me. I had a girl tell me not to get my hopes up yet when I was aout 8 weeks along. I just do my best to ignore those people. They really have not got a clue on how to be sympathetic/empathetic. It really is sad that they go through life sying stupid things all the time and no one probably ever corrects them! Sorry about that, I just know where you are coming from!
