So, it was only 5 months since our loss. Do I have to go through the whole pelvic exam, pap etc....
all over again???
Ugh.
I lost the baby anyway. All the blood tests and stirrups and speculums in the land didn't help. Can't the Dr. just take my word for it and leave me alone for a while????

I lost Alex at 21 weeks. Went in for my 6 week checkup and had a BFP and my dr did another. Actually I think he did one that day and another 3 weeks later. Cant remember. I was still floating on Cloud 9

Yea, I guess I should just be grateful and not worry about it.

Considering my Dr. didn't do a pap at my first appt w/Cora (last year on Tuesday...actually. Weird, I'll be testing to find out if I'm pg with her sibling exactly a year after I first saw her on the screen ) because I had had one that May, I probably won't, because I just had one in June.

But I can't be so sure about the actual exam though.

If you've had a pap within two years you do not have to have a pap test. My doctor doesn't believe in doing one unless it's absolutely nesseccary. With my dd I didn't have on the entire pregnancy--the first time the doctor was in that area was on the day of del!!LOL! With my lost baby and with this baby I did not and will not be having any physical exams down there. There not needed unless you have issues (herpes etc).

Doc skipped my pap since my last one was last Dec. I've had lots of internal u/s, though, so still have to hide under a thin sheet. Next time baby should be big enough to do a belly shot instead. Yay! From reading the other responses, it sounds like it's up to your doc and his/her preferences.
