Hello all, I don't post much but I have a question. Have any of you ever heard that having low progesterone is herditary? I have had a chemical pregnancy and a miscarriage at 6 weeks and my sister has been ttc for almost 10 years and recently became pregnant but found out her progesterone was only 4, so she too had a miscarriage. I haven't had mine checked but wonder if that is my problem?
Thought I needed to mention that I have 2 DD's with no problems whatsoever.
I don't know about it being hereditary, though anything's possible. I had DS with no problems when I was 28-29. I lost two this year, both had low progesterone, so doc put me on suppositories during the first trimester this time as a precaution. My number came back at 27 w/o the supp's, but he left me on them anyway.
You can get tested and if you tend to have low progesterone, doc will give you a prescription to start so many days post O. Might be worth looking into for both you and your sister. Good luck!
Do not sorrow; the joy of the Lord is your strength." Neh. 8:10
I am not sure either if it is hereditary or not
but I had a healthy pregnancy with my son 4 years ago
last year I had 3 miscarriages ( with a careless doctor )
I went in for testing all test came back clear, ( with a better doctor who cared ) I ended up getting pregnant again and when they took blood work found that my progeserone was really low they put me on prometruim supplements for 14 weeks and now I have a healty happy 22 weeks baby growing inside my belly. So I would def have them test it ASAP.
