I have heard of this before... and sometimes it's a blighted ovum or molar pregnancy where this is no baby, your body just thinks there is. And sometimes the mom ovulated later than she thought she did and isn't as far along as she thought.

I hope that the second is the case for you.

Dates could be wrong, so you're not as far along as you thought, or another possibility not yet listed is an ectopic. Doc will know more once your second numbers come in. I'm sorry you have so much uncertainty right now! Please keep us updated.

HI, I went in at 6 weeks for an ultra sound and they could see a sac but that was all, so I had to go back one week later and everything was perfect. I will pray all goes well for you.

I will keep you in my thoughts and prayer

the news I have it not good but there is still hope

I went in for my ultrasound at 6 weeks and saw the sac and the baby for this pregnancy so I did not have to experience that

and the doctor told me after my 2nd m/c that it could take up to a week or more for all the hormone levels to get out of your system and still might get a positve test. not trying to give negative vibes but just wanted to let you know what happened to me.

good luck and keep us updated

Do you happen to know, or have you asked if you have a tipped uterus. It is far more common in tipped uterus situations to have early u/s show nothing. I would think if it were ectopic they would see that - typically in cases of both blighted ovum & molar, there is something visible on u/s. I was misdiagnosed as having a blighted ovum & you could clearly see there was a placenta on hte screen - it wasn't until I passed the baby that you could even see a baby. I looked at those us screens too - I know that I too never saw a baby - but we somehow couldn't see it. I can't even explain it.

I know right now you just want answers - so I would google the term misdiagnosed miscarriage. There is a lot of info out there & stories of women that have both had mc's & those that went on to have healthy babies after these kinds of test results. Unfortunately without further tests - no one can tell you for sure now. I do not want you to delude yourself that it is okay - but at the same time - I don't want you to give up to despair. The truth is right now you have had one test that is fairly inconclusive, but definitely not positive. It doesn't diagnose anything 100% in any way. Try to remain calm - hope for the best & educate yourself on worst case scenarios - so that when you get further results you feel like you have the info you need to set your mind to rest & ask whatever questions you may have. I am sorry that you had a bad test result & I am praying that the following tests will bring you better news!

Much love hun-
