I had my 37 weeks 3 day appointment today and we went over the birth plan. I also asked alot of questions about what the midwife would do and not do. Such as she will not do the stripping of the membranes until my due date which is fine by me because I thought she wouldnt do it at all because she said she liked babies to come in there own time but she did say today that if I havent had baby on my due date I can go in to the hospital and she will strip the membranes ( she calls it stirring things up) she said it is painful but wont in any way hurt the baby. I was so happy when she said that she will do the procedure if I want it but not before my due date. If I dont get it done then when I am a week overdue she will refer me to a specialist who will give a date to induce me which is between 10 - 13 days over the due date. So things are looking up a little. Baby has a good heartrate my blood pressure is great. Baby is not engaged but there is no surprize there. He is no longer spine on my spine which is great. So it was a wonderful appointment. Only downfall is my midwife is off on holiday from the 1st of Jan till 10:30am on the 8th of Jan. If I go into labour at that time I will have the Locum midwife she is great to. It would be nice to have my proper midwife though.
