Hi ladies,

I am new to this board. I just got my BFP last week. I am only 4 weeks and 3 days pregnant. Today I woke up early (actually I didn't sleep very well) and decided to get some shopping done before the stores get crazy. Well I felt something weird (like a small gush) and went to check. There was slight brown spotting (only when I wiped). I came home right away and layed down. It has only been a couple hours and I have had a little more brown, pink, and red when I wiped. Not much, but I am sooo scared right now. I m/c in August and had spotting right away... and that did not go the way I wanted.

Anyway, if anyone has also had a similar experience please let me know how it turned out. I could use some positive thoughts right now!

First of all welcome and congrats on you pregnancy!

A lot of women spot during early pregnancy. That said, any spotting is reason for concern in my mind so I would call your doctor and ask for an ultrasound to check things out.

Hope everything turns out well.

Hi and welcome to the group! It's a great group of ladies on here! I had some spotting with both my first m/c and this pregnancy - a lot of women spot, especially early on, and go on to have competely normal pregnancies. But you should have it checked out - your doctor may not want to see you yet, but you should at least call and talk to him or her.

Good luck and keep us posted!!!

Hi I just wanted to say welcome. I am sorry you're going through the stress of spotting. I could very well be implantation blood finally making it's way out of the uterus. Try to relax (easier said than done, I know).

Thinking of you!

I think I already answered you on the DDC board, but I just wanted to reassure you, that although scary, brown blood is okay.

I have been spotting for over a week, but my numbers are climbing and baby is growing and has a heartbeat according to u/s. I may spot the entire first trimester or the entire pregnancy, as scary as that sounds. As long as everything is okay, I will deal.

But the spotting my just be a one time thing or may even last a couple of days and then be over. Just try to relax, as hard as it is, and enjoy!

Thanks ladies for all your responses! I still have had some brown spotting off and on today but we are trying to stay calm! I keep telling myself it if is meant to be it will happen. I did call my doc yesterday and spoke to the nurse and she said what I expected her to say (i.e. brown blood is ok, it could be implantation or from intercourse- though we haven't for about 2 weeks).

We have an appointment scheduled for January 16th. I will be 8 weeks then. I assume we should see a heartbeat then (if I am wrong, let me know). I can't wait!! I think I will feel alot better if I can only see a strong heartbeat...

Thanks

Amanda

And yes, by 8 weeks you should see a heartbeat. I saw one at 6w4d.

You'll be in my thoughts!
