Hiya! I am Kristin and I just found out on Wed. (at 11 DPO) that I am pregnant! I have 2 boys, almost 4 and 8. I had a m/c at 7 weeks back right before my youngest was conceived.
We've moved, so I have a new Ob. B/c of my history of m/c he's put me on progesterone vaginally (200 mg at bedtime). My prog. level was 16.9 at 11 DPO (Hcg was 26.something). I'll stay on them until 12 weeks.
I don't know exactly what to think about it. I had Thomas AFTER the m/c without the progesterone. I kind of feel like since my m/c wasn't until 7 weeks it wasn't a progesterone issue, kwim?
Will using this cause a pregnancy that is really not viable to stick?
Thanks and looking forward to us all having 9 month pregnancies!
Kristin, mommy to Matthew (10.5), Thomas (6) and Leah Kate (8/27/07)
Hi there...I'm in a similar situation as well. I've started prog supp last night. I had my prog levels checked at 7dpo and they were 13.7 and they like to see them above 15 with a medicated cycle. The RE's office didn't sound too concerned though and I'm praying that they go up.
As for taking the prog to prolong an unsuccessful pg...it's hard to say. I started taking prog at around 5 weeks with my last pg and I still m/c at 6 weeks so it didn't prevent the m/c from happening. In my case though I m/c because of scar tissue from a D&C I had a few months before I had gotten pg (for a missed m/c).
I've heard good things about prog helping and there are many success stories. I'm praying that we'll be apart of those success stories!!!
You know, I didn't take progesterone, but there's a number of women on this board and the pregnant after recurrent loss board who were on progesterone early on in their pregnancies. It's my understanding that progesterone won't hurt you if your body doesn't actually need it and really helps if your body does need it - so you should probably take it if your doctor recommends it. Just what I've heard...
Our C-section is scheduled for Feb 16th! Then we'll know whether Baby Bennett is a BOY or a GIRL!!!
