I work in IT field as a temporary contractor and supposed to be on my current project till end of March but might get extended till June/July. Though I am just 14 weeks I am showing a lot, maybe because I had a stillborn just 8 months ago(at 38w) and I did not lose much and my tummy was still baggy when I got pg with this one. Should I tell that I am pg at work or no? One of my friend said, they might think twice to extend me if I tell them. So, I am not sure if I should tell this to my employer or just keep quiet until they ask me personally. I know no one usually asks! Any thoughts?
I would tell your employer. Personally, my Dr. gave me all sorts of restrictions because he labeled me as high-risk because of my loss, so I really had no choice but to tell my employer. It might just make things easier if you have to cut back on work a little if they already know you're pregnant.
But if you're not that comfortable with it, let your boss know that you want to keep it quiet?
