I am 23 weeks prego. I started having contractions last night in the middle of DTD... We had to stop and I had a few painful contractions after that... They never went away. I managed to get about 4 hours of sleep. I drank water, but that made me pee. It was not a very restful night. I have had more than a few this morning and during the day. DD is sick. She has had a fever for 3 days and she NEVER gets sick. We took my car to the shop yesterday and I need a new transmission (it is a hybrid... glad we got that extended warranty!) so I am carless until at least tomorrow. My DD was so sick this morning that I told my DH that we HAD to take her to the doctor.. Managed to get in at 8:45 am and all is OK, but I am so releived we did! DH was late for work as he had to take us to the Dr. (he has a standard transmission and thanks to a brain tumor, I can't drive it) Anyway, meanwhile, I am still having contractions.... I had preterm labor with my DD and 6 weeks of bedrest, but that wasn't until 29 weeks. I have done nothing today but lay on the couch and drink water. I am on gaterade now... Could this be Braxton Hicks and I am just more aware of any contractions now? Am I being stupid and should have gone to the doctor? Last time, I didn't even KNOW I was in preterm until the Dr said I was contracting every 2 minutes. Oops... Anyway, thanks for letting me vent some concerns...

I would for sure call your OB ASAP, I had lots of bh with my son but they never hurt that bad tell the end. I would call or go to the hospital so they can check you out. Its better to be safe then sorry. I hope all is fine!

Oh, you poor thing - what a day. You know, I know you don't want to feel like you are over-reacting or anything, but I'd agree with the other ladies and suggest getting on to the doctor or hospital - especially with the history of pre-term labor. Hopefully everything is fine and it will ease your mind, but even if something is going on, they can do something about it right away. I'm hoping everything is OK. Please keep us up to date.

Thanks ladies. The contax have stopped.... DH is home and now I feel like I can go to the hospital if needed... Before, I had no car and a sick DD... We are getting my car tomorrow and the dealership is about 2 miles from the hospital. So, if needed, I will go. I feel like a huge worry wart. I actually have a list of questions for the dr at my next appt. Thanks again for the input... I will keep you posted!

I would definately call your OB hun... or go and see them, just to get checked over..

It COULD have been BH - I know that around 25w I started getting BH whenever we DTD, but I don't remember them being painful...
