Well first off everything is okay, Aaron is still baking so the time being. It all started Friday night at 7pm I started cramping alittle bit nothing major. Went to bed and woke up at 5 in the morning in horrible pain. I couldn't stop crying because it hurt so much. I called the health link number and she told me I was in labor and to go to the hospital right away. I didnt even make it to the door before I had to turn around and get sick. Funny thing is I called my mom and she was up, she said that all of a sudden she woke up and just couldn't go back to sleep so she went out to the living room and then I called. So we went and got her and we made it to the hospital in record timing, normally it would take 30mins to 40mins to get there but it only took us 20 mins and they had checked my cervix it was soft but hadn't dilated yet. That was one of the worse cervix checks I have ever had, sorry this will probally be tmi but she almost had her all fist up there to find it. Then 3 hours later, still contracting they checked it again it took her 2 seconds and I had dilated to 1 cm. So at this point they said we need to give you steriod shots for his lungs, (which hurt like hell, I don't know how ppl could just take steriods everyday) and then they stuck a pill up my butt to see if it would stop. That didn't work. So they tried giving me pain medication, that didn't work. I had an ultrasound and the only thing those things did was made my contractions worse. So they tried giving me a higher dose then my contractions started to slow down, so they were able to get both steroid shots in. So now I am on bed rest, and I have an antinatal nurse coming everyday to see me and Aaron. And if I go into labor again they won't be stopping it. Aaron will go to the nicu for a while, (this is if he is born before 37 weeks). But as of saturday he almost weighs 6 lbs. He has a big head on him just like his mom and grandfather, his head measures 37weeks. But things are okay now, I am so exhausted. But atleast if he decides to come now he has had his steroid shots.
I'm glad you went in and they were able to stop labor. While he'd probably be just fine at this point, it's almost always better to keep them in as long as possible. Glad you've gotten the steroids. They're rough, but it's worth it just in case he does come early.
Do not sorrow; the joy of the Lord is your strength." Neh. 8:10
Glad all is okay for now. Try to take things easy hopefully he can stay in there a bit longer.
