Just a question to all. And a little about myself. I am 30 and in the best shape of my life, I did everything right, I go to the gym daily, eat the right stuff, you get the picture. Never even thought I would have any problem carring a child..... Well at 7weeks, I had a D&C. Ablsoutly beside myself. You guys know how I felt I don't have to go into it. Well anyway I am very anxious to ttc again I still havent gotten AF! D&C was JUNE 9, here we are at July 14 I really am loosing my mind.

I have a few 1,000 questions but I will just ask a few for now.

How long did it take to get pregnant after your...?
How long before AF came back into your lives?
How long did the OB say to wait to ttc?
Did everyone know when they ovulated just after the d.c.?
Was it about 2 weeks? or is it possible not to ovulate until day 35 or so?
But I have been told to count the D>C. as day one. That was forever ago and I think I am ovulating now again I just don't know the test strip says no but I disagree.

If anyone else would like to add their story please do so. Any help would be greatly appericated I am going crazzy

haha thats alot of questions.Ill answer the ones that I can. My AF came about 5 1/2 weeks after d&c. I called doc because i was getting fed up waiting to. They said normally it can be from 4-12 weeks. They didnt want me to go past 6 though. They said if it didnt come at 6 weeks to call them and they would give me med to jump start it.My ob said normally they like you to wait 1 full cycle because of timing and dating reasons. But for me i am going through testing because i have had 2 mcs.So they asked me to hold off.I didnt feel O aftyer I had the d&c. If i did o that month it was later than usual. This is my 1st month after 1st af and i definatly feel i od.Right around day 17 which is still a little late for me.Thats about all i can answer for you.HTH

Well I had my d&c at 17 weeks. I had AF about 8 weeks later I think and my dr told me we did not have to wait to ttc. It took us 7 months to concieve again. My cycles went from very regular before I got preg to very irregular after my m/c so I had to do charts and dr was even talking other options right before I got my bfp. Dh and I are now expecting our first son in Sept.

First of all honey, I am truly sorry you went through what you did. I had a m/c back when I was almost 12 weeks along. My baby had died around 8 weeks into my pregnancy! I was devestated not to mention thought my life would cease to exist as I knew it. I had a dialation and suction (D/S) on March 13, 2003. So my heart is really aching for you at this moment.

I don't know why but something propelled me to hop in here today so I feel really strongly about being here for you and the others who are still ttc, like myself, after a m/c.

To answer your questions, here is what I experienced:

How long did it take to get pregnant after your...? Honey, it's been 2 years and 4 months and we are still ttc after our m/c. But don't let that get to you, my m/c really screwed me up hormonally. And I am not giving up hope!!!

How long before AF came back into your lives? After my m/c it took almost 10 weeks for my AF to come back and I had to take provera to get it started again. The doctors said anything from 6 to 8 weeks is about the normal range, while some get it back very soon after.

How long did the OB say to wait to ttc? My OB said for us to wait 3 months (or 3 normal cycles) to ttc again, but since I was so messed up, he gave us the go ahead right away.

Did everyone know when they ovulated just after the d.c.? I have no clue about ovulation. I don't think I did ovulate since I was so messed up. If you are very familiar with your ovulation signs and symptoms, all of that should be the same if you ovulate after your d/c. But don't be surprised if you don't ovulate on the first cycle after your d/c, I hear that is very common too.

Was it about 2 weeks? or is it possible not to ovulate until day 35 or so? Trust me, it isn't impossible to ovulate later on in a long cycle. I ovulated on like cd55 before. So don't give up hope. Nature will find a way to make that happen for you.

But I have been told to count the D>C. as day one. That was forever ago and I think I am ovulating now again I just don't know the test strip says no but I disagree. I don't really agree with that either. Your d/c wasn't the start of a new cycle, it was the ending of a life My doctor never told me that. He told me to count cd1 when I got my real AF. For me, the d/s didn't count for that, well, according to my OB anyway, and I really do trust in him. And even my RE (my reproductive infertility specialist) told me the same thing.

I am, from the very bottom of my heart, sorry for your loss! I think any of us girls who have been through what you experienced know the pain and emptiness a m/c leaves behind in your heart and soul. It's been over two years and I still cry and think of what I don't have in my life.

I will pray that you get your little one and that you don't have to go as long as I have been.

Take care and if you need to talk in person, just let me know. You can PM me and we can get in touch.

Take care,
Jenn

I'm sorry I can't answer all your questions exactly but here is what little bit I have. I had a D & C on Sept 10 at 9 weeks. The doctor asked me to wait 3 complete cycles before trying again. On the 3rd cycle I TTC again and found out that I was pregnant on Dec 23rd and I'm now 34 weeks.

I wish you the best TTCing again and hope that it comes as quickly as you want it to.

Hi! I'm fairly new here - but thought that I'd add to your post...

How long did it take to get pregnant after your...? Well..... I had my 2nd D & C on May 23rd (1st was Dec 13, 2004), and according to the Doc, i'm currently 5w4days pregnant again.... total shock actually b/c we only had unprotected sex once (June 26th), because we were trying to hold off until we received all of the test results back.

How long before AF came back into your lives?
I was actually impatiently waiting for AF, but never got it. Had sore boobs for the last week or so, thinking it was PMS, when it actually was pregnancy. After my 1st m/c, it took about 4 weeks for me to get my first AF.

How long did the OB say to wait to ttc? Both times I was told to wait at least one cycle (just for pregnancy dating purposes).

Did everyone know when they ovulated just after the d.c.? nope - but considering that we only had sex the 1 time since my D & C - guess I ovulated a little over 1 month after the D & C.

Was it about 2 weeks? or is it possible not to ovulate until day 35 or so?
But I have been told to count the D>C. as day one. That was forever ago and I think I am ovulating now again I just don't know the test strip says no but I disagree.
I don't know about counting the D & C as day 1 - that just doesn't really make any sense to me. My doc said to not count anything until the 1st day of the return of AF, which makes much more sense to me. As far as how long it takes to ovulate, I am one of those that was well over 30 days when I ovulated, so certainly possible. Now, don't know if i'd ovulated before that - but certainly didn't have AF, so probably didn't.

I am very sorry for your loss - but like so many others on here, I completely can sympathize unfortunately. I'm petrified of it happeninng again, but guess we just have to wait & see. So far have only had 1 hcg test (will get the 2nd result today). 1st reading was 6,890, which is higher than it ever got in my previous 2 failed pregnancies, so keeping my fingers crossed
