They tell me the machine is old, they have problems with it but not finding a heartbeat is a bit much for me to handle. And 2 weeks waiting is way too much.

I tested positive on the 10th of March, I should be about 8 weeks right now. Shouldn't they be able to see a heartbeat? They saw a baby, but no heartbeat. I'm confused and stressed and angry at them for not trying more than a few seconds or sedning me next door to the decent u/s machines. But I wasn't exactly thinking to ask. I was thinking not again.

DH tells me everything is ok and I really want to believe that!

I would also be really upset. I would call your OB and demand a new u/s with a better machine. If they won't do what you want I would find a new OB.

Wishing you the best!

That's terrible!!!! I can't believe they didn't try on another machine!

I just had my 1st u/s at 6 weeks and they couldn't see a HB either. So I'm nervously waiting too.

I'm really angry and scared. DS already knows I'm pg too and I'm scared that it's not going to be OK and how I would explain to him as well as if I can handle it again.

We have two little boys that both knew about Olivia - I literally miscarried on my youngest's sixth birthday - left the hospital AMA to make it to his birthday party.

Here's how we told our sons:

We explained that sometimes babies come too early, and because they rush their little bodies don't always form right, so this one was going to go live with the angels, and we were going to wait until they were ready to come be with our family.

Both the boys understood - and granted they were a little nervous the next time round, we explained the risks the next time, and now they are thrilled and excited.

I'm sure you will find the word, if, heaven forbid, you have to broach that with your little one. You would be surprised just how understanding they can be. Try not to cry though, you don't want them to associate it with something devestating, but a milestone that the family together has to go through as a team. I think that's what worked best for us.

You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

Sorry you have to deal with this stress. I know how hard that is to just be wondering if everything is ok. I hope you can get into get another u/s or see another dr very soon. Wishing you all the best.

There are no other OB's in my medical group other than the one I had who is on leave for a while (his wife delivered her baby premature and he's with her and the baby).

I really don't like this OB, but maybe thats because I had such great OB's with my first 2 that it seems weird to have one that isn't as perfect!

I'm still feeling pg so I'm trying not to worry.
