I found out today my sister in law had a miscarriage. I so hate that it happened to her and my brother.

That is really too bad. When we told everyone about my first pregnancy at 6 weeks (the one that I eventually miscarried), everyone was so happy for us, but DH's grandma didn't seem to have that same excited reaction. She said she was praying for us, but that she was nervous because it was so early...I think sometimes you just get a feeling about that kind of thing.

That is so sad- it is weird that you had that feeling about it. Make sure you are super sensitive to her feelings when you talk about your pregnancy and the birth of your new baby. (i am sure I didnt even need to tell you that) cause I lost my baby while my SIL went on to have a normal pregnancy and that was the hardest part of the healing process for me, seeing someone who had something that I didnt.

I also lost my baby while my sister was pg. It was super hard for me at Christmas when I saw her all big and round and fat knowing that I had nothing inside of me!!! It was hard when the baby was born knowing that I was still not pg and trying so hard!!!

I guess I only would have asked everybody to be extra cautious about their joys and complaints!!! It was hard to hear her complain about this or that....completely normal but it hurt me!!!

At the same time I did feel badly about feeling so selfish!!! It was a wonderful time for her. I guess if we had just talked a bit about it it would have made me feel like somebody at least acknowledged my pain.

Are the two of you close enough for you to express your sympathy and ask her if she needs to talk??? Good luck Jess. I'm sure you will be so understanding, esp with all you have been through.

My heart goes out to your SIL and your family!!!

That is so sad. I was so hoping you were going to be wrong.

Thoughts and prayers to her.
