My hips really really hurt me in pregnancy and my pain just gets worse as I get bigger. This was my very first complaint when I was pregnant with Tyrael. Maybe the relaxin that causes your tendons to be loose just affects some people worse than others. After I have been sitting or lying down for awhile, I have to hobble around for awhile before my hips will work properly.

If you would like to see pictures of my sweet (but tiny) boy they can be viewed at www.caringbridge.org/visit/noahdarrohn they aren't the easiest pictures to look at but I am willing to share them with anyone who would like to see them <3
On August 2, 2012 we lost Sarah at 17 weeks. She was our 8th loss Her pictures can be viewed at http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/sarahdarrohn
There is no known explanation for my losses.

Oh I am with you on the hips. I'm not getting sciatic pain so much as my hips already starting to lock up and pop out of joint.. blurg.. After 28 weeks my doc will release me to see my chiropractor and I know that will help. Until then I guess I will just be dragging on leg behind me

My hips ache too. It doesn't matter if I'm sitting, standing or laying they just HURT!!

I love the new bed idea....I think I'll have to try that one out on DH.

different women experience different effects of pregnancy, at different times! I never actually had the 'hips spreading' thing - hence why Gaby wouldn't engage & I needed a c/s!

I would imagine it's partly sciatica too. The only time i get sciatica is when I am pregnant, right from early early on (ie before positive pregnancy tests)

it's crazy !!

I did find a little bit of relief though....when I lay on my left side, I actually half roll a pillow and tuck it behind my lower back and right hip....the added support does take some pressure off !

Ahhh... the joys of pregnancy!LOL.It fets worse the bigger you get! I had sciatica so bad when I was pregnant I had to lean on my other leg because the other hurt so bad. I waddled like a 6 foot tall penguin for 3 months. But, Austin was stuck on my left side, and thats why it was so bad.(I seriously only have stretch marks on my left side, theres even a lone spot where his head was!)
