my first appointment is tomorrow and i am a little nervous. do you think i am far enough along to hear a heartbeat? how far along were you when you first heard your baby's heartbeat?

at only 5 weeks ?

The heart forms usualy 6 and a half weeks.

Don't be disappointed.

hi ya hun! im still so thrilled your here! anyhow i didnt see the heartbeat until i was 7 weeks and 4 days, we didnt actually hear the heartbeat til like 13 weeks. i hope that helps and youll get lucky ad your doc will let you have a u/s and see the little bean!

dont worry if you dont see anything..my RE wouldnt give me an u/s until 6 weeks or my hcg was 5,000 or more. at 6 weeks the hb was 106 and i freaked. come to find out it would of just started..possibly that day even. went back a week later and it was 145.

I saw my little one's hb @ 5 1/2 wks...120 bpm..and I was shocked to tell you the truth !! I wasnt expecting to see it until I was further along......sooooo IF you dont see it, do not get stressed hon ! its early !!!!!!!

I heard my babies heartbeat at 5 weeks 5 days and it was only 100bpm. I was a little nervous but it must have just started to beat that day.

thanks girls! i was past 5 weeks when i even found out with the girls, so i wasn't sure when you could first hear it. guess i'll just have to wait

If they do an u/s it could be to early to see one just yet. I did hear Ava's hb at 9 weeks with a doppler though, I was surprised to find it that early.

As everyone has said, I think that you are very close but I wouldn't be upset if you didn't see a heartbeat at this point. I can't remember the exact time, but I am pretty sure around the 6 week mark we were able to see the heartbeat. Good luck - can't wait for an update.
