Dh's office does that. And, each department decorates with a different theme. My husband is in the IT department, so one year they did Revenge of the Nerds.
Their department is in the basement and is often referred to "The Dungeon" so they did that theme one year.
Other departments have done Bedrock (people dressed up as Fred, Wilma, and Betty and such), Wizard of Oz, and Haunted House themes. It's so fun.
We've gone there since DD's 1st Halloween; but there have been many changes at the office. They probably won't have it this year.
Luckily, last year we found a block with closely-spaced houses near my sister's house where 90% of the neighbors hand out treats on their front porch (and most of them dec out their houses) and then there is a festival/party at the park at the end of the block. They have a bake sale, costume contest, campfire stories, a "haunted house" to walk through, and such. It's awesome and perfect for 2-12 year olds.
