I honestly probably won't start shopping until about a month before. He just changes so much it's hard for me to know what will interest him most in 3 months.

No idea here either! I am starting to think about ideas though. Usually we do a big thing and then a few little things....I know for Ethan's he got that sit and spin zebra thing and then little toys too. We will have to buy for bday's and then Christmas just a few months later! (actually exactly two months later for us! )

I'm pretty sure she's getting a Pottery Barn anywhere chair. Unless I find something else but I want her to have one of those. I want to get her one big thing. She will get plenty of other small things.

We have so many baby toys and items, I really don't want to get Theo much just because we don't have the room for it and have so much as it is.

I already got him his personalized luggage because he had/has 2 trips before his birthday. He has a chair. I just can't really think of anything.

My mom and dad get each grandchild a HUGE piggy bank with their name on it and put $100 in it. So, that's a cute idea.

The chairs are a good idea. I had my own little rocking chair when I was little and it was so neat.
We will probably do one big thing. I have a feeling my parents will go crazy...

DH & I are getting him a pair of shoes. That's IT. His first pair of Converse All-Stars (the crib-shoes version with the soft soles for, ideally, his first walkers).

We have SOOOOO much crap already and I'm sick of ridiculously spoiled kids. I'm asking for pieces to a Plan City set that he won't be able to use for another year+ from relatives for the next couple of years of birthdays & Christmases so that he can have a nice, quality playset and not get a bunch more junk that we really don't need in the meantime.

That plan city stuff is really cool =)

I've only bought Katie a handful of toys but they seem to multiply because people have given us stuff. I'm about to do a major clean out. She has two shelves on her changing table that have two baskets of toys plus some bigger ones that won't go in baskets. She doesn't really play with over half of it.

Her favorites are stacking cups, a wood stacking toy, books, and a ring from the old play mat.

I agree that the Plan City stuff is pretty neat!

I'm not set on getting anything specific right now but the general idea is one toy (some sort of ride-on toy or starting him a Duplo collection) and a few books.

Natasha...I know the feeling. Our buying starts now in November with Luke and goes straight thru the end of June with no break at all with birthdays. June is the hardest here really..me, ryan and Angelica all have June birthdays

For Luke though I know I am going to get him the little tikes truck since he loves Davis' police car so much. I am doing a truck so the have variety instead of the same thing.

We haven't decided yet. But he will probably get a couple small toys for his birthday and Christmas. I think we go down the toy aisle a couple times a month so he can get a feel for some of them and see what he likes.
