I am not sure if this has been asked, but what theme will you be having for LO's party?

Does 'general party' count as a theme?
We'll do some red, yellow, blue, green balloons and stuff like that - 'happy birthday' plates and napkins, probably. The Mr.'s mom will make Johnny's cake, and we'll get something for the grown-ups. Not a big, big party, and I'm considering asking that there be no gifts. Is that silly?

We are going with a cupcake theme. Although we're not actually having cupcakes. The top of the cake will be cake that looks like a cupcake, and there are some other desserts that look like cupcakes, but are chocolate and marshmallow. Stuff like that. Maybe it's weird we won't have cupcakes... maybe we should... I flip flop on this. I originally wanted cupcakes, but then didn't want to have them as the main dessert. So I went with stuff that looked like cupcakes, but were not. Maybe I am over thinking it, hehe. The main color will be pink. Mostly pink, purple, white, and some blue.

I'm thinking we're just going to stink to a "general" b-day party theme too. I've been looking, but can't find a theme that I really love. So, we'll probably do lots of balloons, streamers, and bright colors. The one thing that will be different is the cake-- it will be "under the sea"/"Fish" themed.

I think we are going with general birthday theme for the family party and Texas Tech theme (mostly red and black) for our party with friends.

I'm thinking either Elmo or Dr. Seuss - Jojo loooooves these shows on PBS, lol. I don't know though yet though. I probably won't make up my mind until a week before the party. Hell, it'll probably just end up Thanksgiving themed.
And no, I don't think it's weird to ask for no gifts. That's exactly what we will be doing - we do have a practical reason for it though - we're driving to Missouri for the Thanksgiving week, so we won't have room in our car for any extra things.

We are doing a ladybug theme. I think my mom and I are going to attempt the cake (a big giant lady bug and maybe some ladybug cupcakes). I think we will try to find ladybug accessories: plates, napkins, invitations, balloons, etc. I am also trying to find her a really cute ladybug outfit that maybe I can have her name embroidered on. Other than that nothing too crazy. I think it will mostly be our families with a few friends, too.
Love the Dr. Suess theme!

Oh I love the cupcake theme! I think we are doing the pink and brown owl theme that I mentioned before. There are SO many cute girly ones though!

Our family tradition is to do cupcakes for the 1st birthday and just standard decorating (pink, purple, yellow balloons and such). End of the year is crazy for us for birthdays though - two in September, two in December, and now one lil Ayla in November. We're going to be caked out.

We don't really have a theme, just going with primary colors. I'm going to try to make colored cupcakes, I'm going to test it out next week.
