Johnny loves to eat. Even more than we do, I think! At this point, he's sucking down between 12 and 24 oz of purees or medium-chunky 'baby foods' a day, as well as a huge variety of puffs, snacks, yogurt melts, Cheerios, fruits - mostly bananas, veggies (whatever we've had for dinner), and anything else he can get me to give him. And still nursing about 4 times a day and (sadly) about 4 times overnight.

I'd like to start moving him away from the purees and baby foods, but I'm not sure how to replace them with more table foods. Breakfast is hardest for me - I don't want to load him up with things like french toast or pancakes - but other times of day are kind of tough, too. He's perfectly content with us feeding him from a spoon and shows no interest in using one himself.

What finger foods are you giving your little ones? Can anyone share a typical 'daily menu'?

I'm bad when it comes to food. Sulli will usually sample whatever we are having. She, too, is perfectly content to eat frm our spoon, but shows no interest in feeding herself with a spoon. Maybe that comes later?! I don't know.
We do lots of fruit (loves banana) and veggies at dinner. She also likes pasta, pizza, beans, crackers, etc. Some days she enjoys the pured baby food. Other days she lets them run down her chin and gives me an impish grin.
I'm looking forward to getting some more food ideas, too. I feel like we are in a rut. She'll probably end up hating banana!

Breakfast has been the easiest for me. Katie so far is pretty picky but we are adding more foods daily. We either do the stonyfield farms yobaby yogurt for breakfast.. Vanilla or the ones with fruit + veggies mixed in, or if we are home we do a scrambled egg with a little cheese. I also bought a bag of whole wheat mini bagels and keep them in the freezer. I will toast half a mini bagel and smear some pureed fruit or cream cheese, or yogurt on it. We don't do that as often because we are trying to push protein, but she loves them.

Oatmeal with fruit mixed in is good too. Katie isnt fond of that texture yet. I'm hoping she gets over that soon and then I will do baked oatmeal because its easy to make ahead and just cut pieces for breakfast.
