Ok, for those who might not be as active on our other page, we've had some very recent discussion about a major Playroom meet up. Have as many mommies and babies there as possible.
I suggested it be in Chicago next summer sometime. I suggested Chicago as it's relatively central for North America and as an airline hub, it could have cheaper flights than smaller cities.
I think it is/can be quite kid-friendly. LegoLand, Science Museum, baseball, Lake Michigan. If we can get things pretty well organized soon enough, we could try to get a block of rooms at a hotel. Maybe even rent a gigantic houses/condos that sleeps like 40-50 people. Oh. maybe a camp ground/lodge? anyway...
It was suggested to take it to a vote for other locations, etc. So, here's a poll of other places to be considered. If your idea isn't on the list, please let us know where you'd like to go!
And yes, we all want it in our own back yard. But that's just not possible. And since we all have at least one kid, trying to be cost effective, too. (Sorry Michelle, we just can't all fly to London. Maybe that'll be next year!)
You can vote for multiple places. Try to limit it to three choices. Unless there's a major problem, we will let majority rule. And i know not everyone will be able to make it. (or might not want to attend). I can continue to look into accomodations regarding hotels/camps/vacation home rentals, etc. Especially once we get an idea of how many people we are talking about

chicago would be great for me it is very kid friendly with lots to do. i am somewhat familiar with the area, since i live about 2 hours away.
i could definately help with arrangements. my cousin & his wife live downtown chicago & both have worked in the travel industry for many years (my cousin has worked at united airlines for 13 years - since he was 17). he is a WEALTH of information & would be more than willing to help us find a great deal if this is where we chose as our destination.

I voted Chicago, Ohio, Denver, or California. Cali would probably be my last choice because flying across the country is expensive, and everything in Cali in general tends to be expensive.

I only voted for Chicago even though I know this won't be for another year probably but realistically with my financial situation ATM I can't afford to travel anywhere. Of course I do expect to be better and more stable by then but I think it'll still be hard since Im a single mom and wouldn't have anyone to split the cost of this with anyone. I hope I'm making sense. Lol.

I'm too scared to fly too. I won't do it again.
I'm really hoping that it's Chicago. By then baby #2 would be here so it would be an excellent opportunity for my family to meet her.

I vote Chicago. Just because it is closest to us and realistically we COULD fly somewhere if we wanted to, but I'm afraid to do it with 3 little kids. lol.
Texas and Cali are my second and third choices.

Dang it! I didn't see it saying multiple choice. My choice would be Cali, Ohio then Chicago in that order. I could drive to Cali on my budget that would be good, Ohio for me has family who can take Joseph for the week and Chicago because of airline prices. I just hope that school isn't in session and it should be ok. Thanks for putting this together!
