Anyone have good recommendations for albums of children's music? And by good I mean I won't claw my ears out after the second consecutive listen, lol.

I just downloaded Elizabeth Mitchell's album "You are my Sunshine" from iTunes and am thinking of getting an album of piano lullabies. But what else is out there, especially for kids under 1?

All the Elizabeth Mitchell stuff is great. Lisa Loeb does a kids CD and so does Ziggy Marley. Frances England is kinda like Elizabeth Mitchell. Jack Johnson does the Curious George soundtrack.

Some non-kid music is awesome, too. Colin looooves Edward Sharp and the Magnetic Zeros.

If you go to your local library, you can check out CD's in the music section. Then go home and "borrow" them....soon you will have a huge collection of music for your little one. Rockabye Baby is good stuff....rock music made into baby lullabies so you don't go crazy yourself. I am a former PK teacher, so I have millions of CD's, most of them with annoying tunes you can't get out of your head....

Totally stole my suggestion!

We have most of the Rockabye baby CDs. It's kinda frightening - listening to Nine Inch Nails "Closer" as a lullaby. but it works!

Also, any Beatles music.

And FYI - my favorite band is on the Curious George 2 soundtrack - Carbon Leaf!

Awesome suggestion! We have an a-may-zing public library here, and I bet they have a huge children's music section. Thanks!!!

I was going to suggest the Rockabye Baby ones too - but we listen to ours on Pandora.
