OK, I know this may be a little premature, but are any of you starting to plan or think about what you are going to do for your LO's first birthday? Our township municipal center rents rooms, which I think we are going to do so that we can have a few more people than what would fit in our house. I think I am going to go with "princess" theme. Not disney princess, just regular princess - pink and purple! We are going to order her cake, but I am going to make her "smash" cake. My mom has a heart shaped cake pan which I am going to use. I am going to make the icing pink and I bought a pink tiara that I am going to stick in her cake as the decoration until she eats it. Oh I am so excited. Haha. I think I was meant to be a party planner. I think I am going to make a poster collage of various photos from her first year for display too. Hmmm. When am I going to fit all of this in? Haha.

i've slightly thought about it. I'm more concerned about *when* we'll have it. It will probably be the weekend before her actual b-day, as my family often goes on a long weekend away during thanksgiving, and Black Friday is the big start of DH's busy season. but we will see. I might have us have a party the Sat or Sun before, and take her actual b-day off to spend with her.

I've totally started thinking about it! L's is at the beginning of Nov so I need to pull double duty. I want to plan it early so it doesn't get overshadowed by Christmas parties!

Ugh... I've thought about it and it's just been stressing me out.
I hate doing parties before the actual birthday... The Saturday after his birthday is Christmas eve, the Saturday after that is new years eve, the Saturday after that is my nephews birthday... I don't know if there will be a party so i haven't even thought about themes.

I've thought about it, but I don't think we'll have an actual party. We don't have any family in town. My parents will be on vacation and DH's parents will already be in Mexico for the winter, so neither set would be able to be here. I think we'll just have a birthday cake at home.

We did the "Princess" theme (not Disney) for Olivia's 1st bday and it turned out super cute! At the time all my friends and relatives had little girls (no boys yet) so as favors I bought different colored tutus and tiaras. I'll have to see if I can find a picture. We did a video collage of pictures from her first year set to music instead of a poster. I still watch it from time to time.
I haven't really given the twins' bday much thought yet. I suppose I should start thinking it about it though! It is 4 months away! YIKES!

We are doing a sock monkey theme. Most of my family will be in town at Christmas so we'll do it around then.

We were thinking the same thing, too... and then we thought of doing snow monsters, like the abominable snow man type of thing - blue and white and silver ones.

I've already been trying to think of what we're going to do so I don't have to worry about a lot of it in November when i'm about to have the baby. I thought of doing something snowflake with blues and purples. I'm already having a friend make the cake since she does an awesome job. Unfortunately we're probably going to have to have it at his grandma's house and I plan on telling her don't butt in to my plans like she did with the shower. I think we might do it the saturday before her birthday because it would already be 2 weeks until Christmas.

Better let me know when you are rolling through! We will have a little party at our house for Gabe and Christian since they are a day apart. They can each have a little mini cake and go to town!!

I have thought plenty about it since I always like to plan ahead and since it's so close to holidays and I know I'll be anal about it being perfect. But I'm so undecided on a theme! I'm thinking of waiting til after the holidays though but I don't know if it would be too much of a wait since her bday is the 8th. So I was thinking of doing it the weekend after new years. Let's see but I just don't wanna wait til later to figure out and end up rushing thru it all.

Im trying to decide if we will do a big family party, a friends party (a good amount of my friends have babies the same age as Brendan so he would have 10 little boys come), or just a small family thing. Also not sure where to have it...I couldnt fit the big family party in my house, if I do friends I would have to find a place to hide my dogs/cat lol. I need to decide this stuff before thinking about ideas.
