Sheena I can be socially awkward too and im very shy so I always get nervous.
How do you find play groups in your area? Just google them?

I'm really shy too...so I've never even looked for a playgroup before. I'm not sure if we have any in our area or not.

Not really a play group, but we go to the Little Gym. Love it, it is so much fun for Harlow and I get to talk to other moms.

I joined one a few months ago out of sheer desperation for some adult interaction. I am socially awkward as well but my loneliness overrode my shyness. I found it by looking at ads at a local children's consignment shop.

That's funny, I'm pretty shy too, at least around people I don't know very well, but I am so desperate for adult interaction during the day, especially with other moms, that I find myself going out of my way to strike up conversations, etc.!!

I don't have an official playgroup anymore as my son's ASD group was disbanded. But I do drop my kids off in the gym kids club and there are always kids there .

I joined a MOMs club near me, but to be honest, it's too much drama for me.... I've only gone to a handful of events, but the emails that go out get a little OOC.... so I've been avoiding it

After reading this I checked online, and there is none in my area for me. There is several, but they are for non-english speaking moms. And since the extent of my Spanish is counting to 15, and "More Beer, Please" I don't think I will be welcome.

I found two on meetup.com but the closest one isn't quite active(boring) and the other is a hour drive from here too much gas. I thought about making one for my town. Start it up on facebook and invite friends with babies. Its an idea i wish i had time to put into effect.

we actually just went to our first meet up yesterday lol!.. i had joined about a week ago and yesterday was the first day we were able to attend (last week we were on vaca).. it was really fun and nice.. my kids were the youngest and oldest lol.. at that particular meet up anyways..
we do have newborns to hunter's age though all together.. i googled the group and found this one on Meetup.com its basically a network for all diff sorts of groups..
im really glad we found one.. i love meeting new people anyways.. but this was really nice for the kids as well
