Those of you that dont have an older child to take out trick or treating what are you actually doing for Halloween? Brendan goes to sleep by 7 and he cant eat candy so I am wondering what I should do. My MIL wants us to come up there, my mom wants us to go there and to be honest I dont see why I need to keep him up late and mess with his routine. Am I a jerk? I am going to have a play date with my friends locally that have boys between the ages of 11 months-2 years. I figure the little kids can wear costumes, it will be day time so no sleeping issues and the adults can eat, have a drink and hang out for a few hours.
Your plan sounds more in tune with a 8/9 mo. old. Yea, I'm planning on dressing up Derek, but he can't eat candy, heck, he can't say "TRICK OR TREAT", and oh yea, there is that whole walking house to house thing. I'd say send pics of the little guy to the grandma's and say if you wanna see him, come here, I'm not interrupting his schedule for something he won't remember!

i wouldn't worry about taking him out at all. just dress him up & get a few pictures last year was the first year we ever took marlee & cade trick or treating and they had a blast!
I think we'll just dress him up and hand out candy, we probably won't walk around with him. Hopefully someone will have a halloween party we can go to lol
I'm going to get his Halloween photos taken (at Sears or Walmart - somewhere cheap). He'll probably hand out candy with us. We don't get a lot of kids in our 'hood and they're usually done by 8pm. I *might* take him around to some friends houses just to show him off.
I'm thinking of going with dh's cousin and their kids just around the neighborhood. I'll be 37 1/2 weeks pregnant then so i'm hoping it'll help me jump start labor.
