I started this pregnancy (right after all the holiday!!!) up about 12 or so pounds from when I started with DD. Part of that was also due to the fertility treatments too...
So, I gained like 6 # as of week 9 and that made me sick to my stomach. I had pre-E and was at risk for GD with DD and do NOT want to go that route again, so I am really working on being healthy and watching the gain. Part of that 6# was basic over-indulging, not baby-related...
So, here we are. I haven't weighed myself since then, but will Wednesday and I'll report. I have to admit, if I lose some of that 6# indulgence, I am not going to cry or worry (and neither will my OB, I can assure you). My goal is all in moderation, all with good nutrition in mind, and add a bit of exercise.
So glad we have this up!

Just to be fit. It's hard to keep up motivation when pregnancy takes so much out of you but I'm proud to say my other two pregnancies were fit, active and healthy. It's worth the extra effort every day to take good care of ourselves!
I think it's great to have goals during your pregnancy, and have others to help keep you accountable! I'm excited to have this little subforum!
A little about me. I was small for me when I got pregnant with my son, and I just completely lost control and gained way too much! I gained 65 pounds, and had a VERY difficult time getting it off. I never completely lost all of it, but I was somewhat happy with where I was pre-pregnancy this time, a pretty fit size 10/12. Not thin by all means, but healthy enough for me.
Started this pregnancy 15 pounds over where I did my last one, and have am trying REALLY hard to keep up my normal eating habits and goals. I weigh myself every morning because I found thats the only thing that keeps me accountable for what I put in my body. My goal is to gain no more than 30 pounds this time, we'lll see how it goes. So far, i'm 15.5 weeks, and i've gained 1/2 a pound, so i'm pretty happy with that!
My history....I've always battled weight gain...in high school I was a size 12, while all my friends were size 2's! After graduation, I began college and gained more weight and right as I did, I got pregnant with Hayden. I had severe Pre-E, and possibly HELLP syndrome (diagnosed by my family doctor after reviewing my records) and I hit a whopping 259 lbs the day he was born...a few months later, his biological father and I split up, I was down to 230lbs...THEN, as a single mom, I had a BUSY life and I eventually got down to 160 lbs (with the help of phentermine, exercise, etc)... then I met DH and I was comfortable 180lbs and a size 12. Unfortunately, when I became a SAHM, I got up to 210 lbs and was quite upset and then got pregnant this time... I have lost some weight on my own, and am down to 198 (according to Wii Fit this morning) and would like to maintain my current weight and not gain much for this pregnancy.
My goal is to have the right attitude about my health during this pregnancy. There is such a big misconception that we are "eating for two" and that this is our chance to indulge. I'm surrounded by it-people want to feed me and pamper me and I love it, BUT deep down I feel like this should be the time I want to be the most fit and healthy!
I started out about five pounds heavier than I'd like to be but not overweight. I've gained six pounds in the first trimester so while I am not going to focus on numbers TOO much, I would like to keep the remaining amount of weight on the lower end. I also want to be fit and ready for physically for a natural birth! More to come on how I plan to achieve that !
I've never been a tiny person, just average. With my first pregnancy, I gained too much-about 60 lbs. By his first birthday I had lost it all though and was pretty happy with myself.
When I went off the pill to TTC our 2nd I gained weight (this always happens for me) and it took us 9 months to conceive him, so I had gained about 20 lbs prior to even getting pregnant and then gained another 50 lbs while pregnant. He BFed for a year and I just can not lose weight with that.
Last summer I went back on the pill for afew months to try and help lose the weight and I lost 30 lbs in about 3 months-I was also doing a lot of running, biking, etc since it was summer.
Then fall/Christmas came and I was tempted by so many goodies, I slacked off with my exercise, and I gained 10 lbs back.
I told myself I would get back to it Jan 1st. I started running/walking again and I lost 12-13 lbs again (depending on the day). It mostly came off in Jan/early Feb and has been consistent since then.
I am keeping up with my walking and am hoping I don't gain too much this prenancy. I'm glad to have you ladies for supprt through this!
I am gym rat myself and have been battling anxiety about gaining weight/any weight, I hate to be like that but I was chubby my whole life and about 2 yrs ago I lost 80 lbs. I get so scared of feeling bad about myself again. I go to the gym every other day and try to eat healthy but I am obviously eating more than I was before.
