WTG, J9! I would have been so tempted to skip! I am thankful I can do my runs in the morning most of the time, I would hate waiting all day and then trying to findthe energy to do it at night! Enjoy the weekend with your friend!

Okay, I am SOOO sorry I haven't been around. Work and life have been super busy and I don't think it is going to slow down until May.
I have still haven't found an extra day to run. I think I may just add a different 30 minute cardio routine once a week.
I do have to say there is something nice about getting it done and out of the way. When we used to wait until 8pm, it would seem like my day would last forever. Now that we get it done after work, I can go home and shower and spend the rest of my evening just relaxing.
We have been running 9:30 miles, but we haven't run over 5 miles. The last time we ran six we defaulted back to 10:00-10:15 miles.
I've added an hour of weight lifting back into my week. That is something I can do at home while the boys nap. I think that is helping my run too.
Numb feet are the WORST! I have self diagnosed myself with Raynaud's disease. It isn't anything major, just an annoyance. When i get cold, the tips of my fingers and and toes lose blood flow. It is freaky. I can't feel them and they turn stark white while the rest of my hands are a pink. That part of my fingers looks dead. Eventually the blood flows back down and then the pain starts. It hurts, but it is more annoying when I am running and my toes go numb!!

2 VERY slow miles ~25 minutes. I took Nathan to ride his bike and since he just learned this past fall and it's only the 2nd time we've been out this year, he was slow and tired easily. But it is 2 miles nonetheless.
Mileage for the week: 18

Long run for the week: DONE!!! 7 in just under 70! I need to play around with the treadmill and figure out if I can set a time on it and have it count down-if I start the timer at 0 and let it increase it automatically goes into cool down mode at 60 minutes and drops the speed. I was an idiot and kept bumping it back up, I should have just stopped it and started again. Maybe that's what I'll do from now on, since I like the timer counting up.
Biked 4 miles afterwards

You guys are doing great! I decided last night that I am pretty much "done" with C25k.
This is week 8: 5 min warmup, run 28 minutes, 5 min cool down.
I am not going to worry about distance any more and just work on increasing my endurance, I think that is why I was dreading my runs last week (worrying about speed+AF).
So my goal is to run at least 4x/week. This week will be 28 minutes, next week 30 minutes, then 32...etc.
When I get to 40 I think I will start varying my times and working on increasing my speed. Does that sound logical to you guys??
I've always done ab workouts after running and stretching, but I have also added weights in the mornings (I put in the jillian michaels 30 day shred and only do the weight/ab portions).
Anyway, I wanted to update here after my crummy week last week. Thanks for the support

Kris you are doing awesome!! I am so impressed with how fast you have progressed.
Kelli, that is a great plan! Very realistic and attainable. I think you will find supplementing with Shred will help you tone up and will help your running progress quicker than it would otherwise. I keep meaning to get this back into my routine as well.
5km tonight on the treadmill in about 32 mins. I felt pretty good but now feel drained and am pretty sure I didn't drink enough water.

Thanks Jen! I did 28 minutes tonight and felt good the whole time! Slow, but good. I just need to keep telling myself that SLOW is OKAY for now!

Oh dear lord I had the worst run ever last night. 3.5 in 40 minutes and barely kept one foot in front of the other. Not enough water, later in the day than usual, and have begun to lead my school in a protest (early stages right now) with the other 92 schools in our county so I'm a little distracted lately

Ugh-horrible, horrible, HORRIBLE "run" just now. I had to run at home because Lukas has a fever and he was up about half a dozen times last night <yawn!> so I didn't want to drag them to the Y. My feet kept going numb again. I started too fast and by about 2.5 miles in I was dieing and started walking. Intended to pick it back up, but I just couldn't. Stopped at 3 miles in 34 minutes=PATHETIC! I am so disappointed in myself.
Good luck with the protest J9-is it about the pay freeze?

Skipped tonights run. Needed some down time. Basically, long story short, we have been on a freeze for goon on the fourh year next year. Then the board came out and said three more years (7 years total). A lot of schools are doing what is called work to the rule. You walk in at the bell, you walk out at the last bell. You drop all your free clubs (that would mean girls on the run ) and you don't stay after for anything outside of your contract hrs. We haven't decided if our school will be doing that yet, but about 30 of our 92 schools have started since last week. I somehow took our schools decision process upon my self which has been exhausting and scary and invigorating all at once. We are gearing up for a vote soon. The big vote will be between solidarity (almost like wttr, but you can take work home) and letter writing to key players. I vote letter writing first, bit I have a feeling it's gaining momentum in our county and we may end up supporting wttr or solidarity. Our union is picking up and we went from 200 members of this fb "club" where all 92 schools communicate to 2000 teachers bondin in the county. I can't keep my eyes off of this fb group. Yesterday a school was threatened by hr. The computer lab teacher told her parents she could no longer volunteer for two hrs twice a week for the robotics club (a wttr school) and hr came and said either continue the club or face dismissal. It is chilling....

Feeling like crap, so total for the week remains at 10 miles. At least 7 of them were good. Hoping I feel back to normal on Monday.

Hi, girls. I think I am going to join you all here. I have been doing the c25k and finished day 3 of week 3 yesterday. I'm not going very fast but at least I am going. I have been dealing with health problems for what seems like forever that added on some weight and then I got depressed about the health problems which added on even more weight. I have a long way to go but am looking forward in joining the discussion here.
P.s. J9, I have been thinking about you and your situation. So awful!!

Welcome Bethany! Always nice to see new faces here. Don't worry about your speed for now. Just build up your endurance and you will get faster as you go.
