We are going to be spending the summer near Middleton due to DH's job transfer. Just wondering if anyone is out there or knows anything about the area.

I live about 30 mins from Middleton!! Actually it's about 15 mins from my mom

There's a lot of lakes, you can hit Milton Three Ponds, they charge parking but it's been pretty clean there lately. Or you can go to Wakefield and go to Lovell Lake, there's a beach right downtown.

There's a Children's Museum in Dover. It's a bit pricey, and not *tons* of fun but my kids like it okay.

I'm 30 min. from Portsmouth, near Milton as well! Always like to hear of new swimming places! We go up to Albee Beach on Wolfeboro Lake

We go to Milton Three Ponds all the time in the summer... great beach for kids... although they've never charged us for parking!
I only live about ten mins from Milton and 20 mins from Middleton - lots and lots to do around here!
About an hour north of Middleton is Jackson, NH and they have Storyland which is great for kids. We go up there quite a bit.
PM me if you want ideas or help with the area!

I am lurking, but I live in NH, born and raised here, and it's nice to see that there are a few of you out there! I grew up in Exeter (30 mins from Portsmouth) and am living in Plymouth now, which is north of Middleton. There are a LOT of lakes and beaches, and like someone said, the Dover childrens museum is nice. Portsmouth is great and there are some nice parks. Where I live, and more north, in the Jackson/Glenn area, there are the White Mountains and Santas Village and Storyland, which is fun.

Prescott Park in Portsmouth is really pretty, if you can get around the construction nearby. They do shows in the park too. And there's free concerts at the Rochester Commons in Rochester (of course). I can't remember what nights those are.
