Every couple of months, I stop in a post a bit and then disappear again. I always have the same question: Any VTers out there?!?!?

I live in the Champlain Valley, about 25 mins south of Burlington.

Hi.

I'm from NY, but.. I went to Burlington last month!
We went on a vacation up in the 'North Country' of NY (near Canada).. and we took a day trip to Vermont. Wow! The drive over was so pretty in the middle of the fall. Enjoyed Burlington a TON!

Hey. I read your post about the north country the other day. I grew up in the LAke George Region and we'd head to the northern Adirondacks from time to time (usually school trips and stuff) Sometimes I think I'd feel isolated, living so far out from any major towns, but that is just me!!

Yes, Burlington is a fun town!! I like being far enough away from it to avoid the mess of living near so many people but yet close enough to reap the benefits!!

Lake George is only an hour from me

That's my concern- the isolation, simply because I'm not used to it. I live in an area with tons of tores, restaurants, etc, all within a CLOSE drive. I've never driven 30 minutes to a Burger King or 1 1/2 hours to Target

On the other hand, I miss the peace! The quiet, the friendly people, no cars or traffic.

It's so hard to know whether or not a move like that is wise... because you don't really know until you do it, kwim?

Anyway- yeah, Burlington was wicked fun. All the shops on Church St. were awesome! And the water front was so beautiful!

There is something to be said for the solitude, but I do not think I could live anymore rurally than I do right now. *We can't see houses from our house or anything, we have a few acres - mainly wooded, so we are pretty secluded but can hear the neighbors and stuff*

I do have to drive 30 minutes to a BK or 1.5 hours to a target though!! )
