Ew, winter rain blows. We're supposed to get some tonight and tomorrow here in Portland. Blech. It's been snowing little flakes pretty continually since around 8 this morning and it's starting to really accumulate. I didn't think we were going to get this much!

I usually work from home Tuesday mornings and am so glad my boss is cool with me working remotely as I told him I'm not going in to the office this afternoon in such messy conditions. They really haven't been tending to the roads- I swear it's a different plowing/ sanding/ salting protocol every single storm- you never know how the roads will be.

I'm NOT looking forward to seeing what mess I wake up to tomorrow. I suspect it's going to be really icy, slippery, slushy grossness. I love winter, but that is the pits.

^I'm with you there. Last time it snowed, route 1 wasn't plowed for something like six hours, during the heaviest snow. ARGH. Tossing calcium chloride on the roads before it snows does not equal plowing, and MDOT needs to figure that out. Honestly, winter wouldn't kill me so much if it was easier to drive.
That said, I'm pretty happy with the snowfall we're getting right now. It's fluffy, so it's not sticking to the roads too badly. But it's juuuuust wet enough to make good exploding snowballs. (No splat factor - they hit the target and turn into a cloud of snow. Awesome.) I'm not gonna complain too much about this one.
