I had my consult today and after thinking long and hard about this for a few weeks now, I have decided to go ahead and have the procedure done.
The appointment is set up for 2 weeks from today on October 13th, I will be 15w,2d at that point. The baby's cells will then sit in an incubator for 2 weeks to grow, and I should find out the results after that time.
The results of the procedure are not going to change anything for me regarding the pregnancy, but just to be able to prepare if need be for another child with a chromosome abnormality.
I had the amnio this morning and just taking it easy for the rest of the day. The baby is doing really well. After the procedure the heartrate was 147bpm. Growing right on track with my prior u/s on August 30th, so I know I must be doing something right.
Found out that my placenta and the baby are on the front wall of my uterus as opposed to the back of it. But they were able to get the fluid sample easily and the procedure didnt' take too long. It kinda hurt though, and I can definitely feel the tenderness of my tummy right now.
