So I had this irrational fear that I would go in today and the dr wouldn't be able to find the hearbeat. Well, I was right BUT the baby is fine. She came in with the doppler and tried for a good 5 minutes to find the heartbeat and just couldn't. She went high and low and nothing . We were freaking out a little but I was a lot more calm because my doctor didn't seem concerned (if she was, she didn't show it which helped me a lot). She said she would go get their ultrasound machine and see if we could SEE it.
We had to wait almost 10 minutes because the office only has one that they share and another doc was using it. She came in, gelled me up and looked for baby. My uterus apparently sits far back in my pelvis and the baby is still reallly low and that's why she couldn't find the heartbeat. In fact, we couldn't even see the whole baby on the screen because of how low it was! BUT what we did see was that the baby is VERY active and was flipping and rolling all over the place . I said, well, if it's moving a flipping apparently it has a heartbeat and that's all that matters to me. She tried to get a reading on the heartbeat from the U/S but since we couldn't see the whole baby, it didn't stay on screen long enough to get a reading.
Overall it was a good appt. Next appt is April 1st and she said we would schedule the big US then!
