Ha! I'm the first to start a journal here. It just doesn't seem right to start one anywhere else! I guess I'll start with the fact that I found out I was pregnant on June 20th. I took an HPT that evening which was WAY positive. I told DH and we just hugged and cried a while. I scheduled my doctor appointment the next day. This is AFTER cancelling it the week before. I was supposed to go in for fertility drugs. DH decided to put TTC on the backburner for a while. Clearly God has other plans for us. So I rescheduled my appointment for yesterday, the 27th. They just did bloodwork and we didn't think I was that far along. Well my HCG was 14,000. So that's really good. I'm really excited. So is DH. Four of my friends are already wanting to throw me a shower haha! I'm really sleepy and my boobs hurt. I have some gas but not too much. Other than that and occasional nausea, symptoms are pretty low key for now. I kinda hope they stay that way! I know it wasn't a long story, but thanks for stoppin by!!

I guess I should say that pretty much everyone in my family knows we're gonna have a baby. I was super nervous about telling MIL. She's been extraordinarily ****** lately because of some stuff going on with DH right now. She called me stupid and naive and wants me to divorce him. That's right... my MIL wants me to divorce DH. My mom is completely 100% standing behind us. Anyway, I was waiting till after the bloodwork confirmed it to tell DH's family. I just didn't want the stress of finding a way to tell them and stuff. So it was kind of like ripping off a band-aid. I just did it. I called MIL on her home phone and her cell phone and couldn't get a hold of her. So I called FIL. She's out of town right now and turned off her phone. That seems backwards to me... isn't that when it should be ON. Anyway... instead of having to tell MIL, I told FIL. Who was excited! Now I might add... my MIL never ever wanted to be a grandmother. Never. This is like my ultimate revenge. My mom, sister, grandparents are very excited for us. They can't wait. My step-dad's grandkids call mom "Mimi" so I think we're just gonna stick with that. Mimi and PopPop. DH's parents can be Granny and Grampy or something really old souding. Hahahahaha!!!

OH. IN 45.5 hours I get to see my baaaaaaaaaaaaby!!!!!

I'm sorry MIL is being so difficult. But you've told us about her before so I'm not surprised. I really hope she'll ease up over the course of your pregnancy though!

BTW I know you don't know exactly how far along you are but if you're really under 6 weeks then don't freak out if you don't see all that much on the ultrasound just yet. I'm so excited for your u/s and hope you get to see the heartbeat and everything!!

Thank you for the advice Judy. I'll try not to... but I have to admit, I'll be disappointed if there isn't at least soooooooomething there. Though I'll try really hard not to be!!! As for MIL... oh well... She can either jump on board or miss out on this extraordinary experience.

I told my FIL. I'm leaving it up to him to tell MIL. And I'll know hopefully tomorrow.

oh yeah I was definitely disappointed and downright freaked out during my u/s - not sure if you read about it. But I guess I thought I was more like 6 weeks instead of just under so I was expecting to see more than I did. What time is your u/s tomorrow? I am so excited for it!!

Judy, I did read about it. I can't say that I blame you. My u/s is at 11:45 central time. I'm gonna try and get there about 11:30 though. I'll definitely keep y'all posted!!

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!

The ultrasound went well. She said I'm measuring about 6 weeks. She couldn't get a great read on the heartbeat, but said that there's no reason to worry, it's just too small right now. She said everything looks really good!!!
