My daughter wanted the book for her birthday, so I got it for her. A few days before her birthday we are at the library and the librarian tells her she has the book that she wanted to check out. Of course.... it's The Hunger Games. On the way home I told her I wanted to read it too and that since I read much faster, she should let me read it first. She complained but handed over the book. I had no intentions in actually reading it, I just wanted to get it out of her hands for a few days.

The next day she started complaining. I wasn't reading the book yet, and she thought I should give it back to her so she could read it. I made an excuse and said I would start it the next day. This continued for a couple of days until finally I started reading the day before her birthday, just to shut her up. When she got the book the next day, she realized why I had done it. By this point though, I had been sucked in and stayed up really late reading the whole thing! She bought the next two books with a giftcard she received for her birthday, and I read them over the next two days. Lol Before all said and done, the whole family had read book 1 and they are all working on the next two.

Over the weekend we went to see the movie. As a movie itself, it was okay. (I would have LOVED it had I not read the book.) Having read the book, I was forced to sit there going…”umm, no. Nope, didn’t happened that way. Wait, how are they going to explain that in the next movie. Oh, why would you change that?!?!’ I think we were all kind of disappointed. I mean, it was a good movie… it just got away from the book too much.

I loved the books. I haven't read the last one yet, though.

We saw the movie over Easter weekend. I thought it was pretty good, and even DH liked it. Now he wants to read the books! LOL I had borrowed the first two books on my Kindle, so he wants to buy the 3 book set so we can all read them.
