I share my middle name with my Dad. My mom picked my first name (Jennifer) because she thought it was unusual. Little did she know about a million other parents in the U.S. were thinking the same thing, LOL!

We try to stick with traditional Christian names that also have significance within our families. Not always, but that's our basic criteria.

Did your parents name you after anyone? I was named Stephanie Michelle, after my dad, Steven Michael.
Did you name your children after anyone?Sierra was something I came up with on my own, but Dawn (her middle name) is the middle name of my best friend from high school.

My son is William James. His father's whole family had James somewhere in their names, and William is his great grandpa on his dad's mother's side.

I was named after a girl my grandpa knew growing up. Mylene is also my mom's middle name. Elizabeth is all my parents could come up with that sounded good with Mylene.

The girls's first names are just names we liked. Kaija is a Finnish name so that goes back to DH's Finnish/Swedish heritage. Her middle name is Jane and that is after DH's grandma and is also MIL's middle name. Kolbie is an English name and I'm mostly English, I guess. Mostly we just liked it. Her middle name is also Elizabeth, after me.
