So, I saw this great article on the JM main page, and it got me wondering.....

How old will your tween/teen be when you let them start wearing makeup?

oh, man.. I'm almost too late!

I have one 15yo girl who does not show any interest in make up. Then again, I don't wear it myself and she doesn't go to school so there isn't the pressure to "fit in". At her age I'd have no problem with it for sure. Don't know when/if it will be an issue with the younger girls. They just like to decorate their bodies (face, arms, legs and tummies) with markers.

We left that decision up to her she knew when others were and when she started feeling left out I guess she was about 12 but I went with her to get it so she wore age appropriate colors. Now she is 14 and wears what she likes

Sierra is 14 now, and we let her start wearing lipgloss, and just a touch of eye shadow about a year ago. She is allowed to wear whatever she wants now, but she generally only puts on make up for special occasions or when she goes into the school for band. (We home school, so she only goes in twice a week for just under an hour.) I rarely ever wear makeup, and since we began homeschooling in January, she wears it less frequently too.
