bread wrapped meatloaf

1 lb ground beef
1 jar cheese whiz
onion, finely chopped
seasoned bread crumbs
egg(s)
chili sauce, to taste
1 defrosted loaf of bread dough-no need to let it rise

Pre-heat oven to 375. Combine first 6 ingredients to make a firm loaf and bake for 20 minutes. Cool slightly and dump out onto rolled out dough. Fold dough around loaf and place seam sides down in 9x13 baking dish. (You may want to spray dish if it's a known sticker.) Bake for another 20 or till golden. You can modify any favorite meatloaf recipe to include the cheese and bread but the key is to only use 1 lb of meat per loaf of bread. I usually make 2 at a time since DH loves this so much. It makes great leftovers.

This sounds really good but I am dumb..

How much onion? How much bread crumbs? How many eggs? And what is the defrosted loaf of bread dough-no need to let it rise?

I want to make this....sounds YUMMY! I would only make one to see how it goes with DF and DS.

I never let the dough rise. I used to but then realized it was a waste of time.

I use a whole small or med onion but we love onion. Start with 1/2 cup of bread crumbs but it may take more to stiffen up the cheese. I'm horrible about measuring and eyeball everything. LOL

I think I use 1 large or jumbo egg and you could probably leave that out.

The bread loaves come unbaked in a pack of 5 in the freezer section. I usually do the overnight defrost method in a gallon ziplock sprayed with cooking spray.

Hope they like it!!

sunni

ETA: You're not dumb-I'm just so used to making it that I have no clue on the measurements.
