Hi girls! I'm new to this forum and I've been reading some of the posts and I feel less alone!
So I"ve been trying to get pregnant for about 1 1/2 years now. I was on Yaz for 2 years before trying to get pregnant. After getting off the pill, my cycle was really off and very irregular. Every time I would be a couple days off, I would get my hopes up.
So finally, about 6 months ago, I started getting regular cycles, about 28 days each. I've been taking my BT for the past 2 cycles, and tried getting intimate with my husband according to my ovulation time.
I didn't get results and I started getting frustrated.
But now, I'm about 12 days late and after 3 negative tests, I wonder what is going on. I just came back from a 2-week trip to Asia, and right before I left, I was ovulating and I made sure to have sex.
So I guess my question is, how many more negative tests should I do before going to the doctors?
This is my first time getting pregnant, so I'm not sure what to look for. I've been getting some cramps, which I always assume is my period kicking in, but it's not. My breasts are a little sore.
So, how long should wait to take another test, knowing that I took the last one today and it came back negative? And should I go to the doctors and get a blood test?
I would really appreciate some feedback, cause I'm kinda freaking out a little bit.
12 days late can be a bit early still for a bfp from what I've heard others say - personally I'm 40days late atm with nothing but bfns, and when I went to the doc she offered me a urine test but said they don't offer bloods without doing their own urine test first (I guess they think we're all incapable of following the directions on hpts properly or something!).
If your doc is willing to do bloods earlier then I'd say go for it, since it's more reliable anyway, and getting an answer beats being left in the dark :-)
